Default Car prices going down in May

Karachi: According to an independent local news agency, major car manufacturers of pakistan are agreed to cut the prices of their cars upto 20% in last week of May 2009.

According to our experts this will affect both new and used cars as the prices of the new cars will automatically drop down upto 30% with the cut down in prices of new cars because people will prefer to buy new cars.

    1) It would completely suck for people who just bought new cars
    2) This news will never be made official till the actual price drops otherwise no one would buy those cars from the announcement till the price drop. That's why these companies never share such pricing decisions beforehand.
    3) These companies are already under invoicing to sell their vehicles so price drops might not be a surprise.

Why would it suck for those who bought new cars? Just because the resale value would go down? But there were others too who sold their old cars at more than their own cost when the prices were rising so that sucked for everyone else too.

Those who bought the cars could afford them anyway so why feel sorry for them? On the other hand, if the prices come down to a more realistic level, then its a win-win situation for the majority.
