Actually we are foolish people cuz we encourage companies n govt. 4 price raise. Agar hum loog nayee garian lana chor dain to khud ba khud prices will come down.

Yahee to prob. ha hamaray mulk main. we people did not ever unite. The major reason 4 this is that there is a big big gap btwn ameer n gareeb.

you c how people united, got in one place in lahore 4 long march n in result within 12 hours chief justice of pakistan and remainings are restored.

when Gen. Yahha khan was ruling in 60 or 70s, once prices of fuel were raised by the Govt. and then people of pakistan came out of their homes and strikes and the govt. then have no chance except to take back the raise in fuel prices. This is unity u c.

What u people say abt this...

Also one reason more 4 this... Corrupt Govt.

People don't really get it. If someone is buying Corolla XLI worth rupees 1,269,000. Do you think he/she would be fool enough not to buy it for an unknown duration, and what if after waiting for 6 to 7 months the prices come down to 5 percent only ?

If you can afford to buy cars at current prices, then don't come up with such threads. If you're waiting for 5-10 % decrease in prices, then better switch to some Honda motorcycle.

So, you mean, now just for others i shouldn't buy some new car for an unknown period ?

For example, if you're going for car like Cultus vxri CNG, and you have 90% money with you to spend on a car. So, instead of waiting for Cultus' price to come down by 10%, you must begin looking around for a slightly used Cultus.

no i didt say that u shud not buy a car the one u like......if u have got the money go for the one u like n afford......actually some ppl are of the opinion that car prices drastically increased after nov 2008 due to current govt so they r against this decision this is all as a nation we shud b united otherwise we dont have the right to start blaming or criticizing others......

I hope, you're not referring to yet another long march, because their sales have already dropped to some massive extent. However, i'd be happy, if the prices dropped by 5-10 % by June.

Last Friday i watched the National Assembly question hour. Our esteemed minister of Industries Mian Manzoor Watto, was answering question, and this very issue was under discussion. To a question asked by Mr Taman of PML(N ), about the high prices of locally assembled vehicles, Mr Watto said, " he thought the prices were neither high nor unreasonable" He continued shamelessly that the prices of cars everywhere is pretty high, and asked the members to given him an example of a country in Pakistan's neighborhood where cars were cheaper. Mr Pirzada, don't know which party he belongs to, pointed out that some Suzuki models made in India cost a lot less than in Pakistan even after converting currency. Mr Watto, who clearly has no clue to what is happening, stood up and replied that " Yes, prices of some cars in India is less, but we must understand that the quality of cars assembled in Pakistan is far superior to those in India and thus the price difference"

I think that about sums up what the present govt thinks about the price situation. It is neither unreasonable nor very high and if it is it's because the quality of our cars is superior!
Come back, Luca Badoer, all is forgiven.

    Some Facts:

Auto industry has lost PKR 709 Million (includes PKR 474 Ml in shape of increased taxes) from Jul-08 to Dec-08 as compared to profit of PKR 2 Billion from Jul-07 to Dec-07

Almost 60,000 workers hav lost their jobs in auto industry from Jul-08 to Mar-09 because the companies are in loss due to 49% decrease in sales, major increase in taxes, increased operational & financial cost etc....

    soure: http://www.dailytimes.com.pk/default...-3-2009_pg5_14

Pak Auto Manufacturer Assoc (PAMA) is trying hard to get reduction in taxes and urging govt. to launch a rescue plan for revival of industry.

It is early to say that whether govt. will reduce tax rates on auto industry, but personally i feel like govt. might not be able to facilitate much in view of overall economy of country. Mr. Zardari is asking for an aid/loan of $ 30 Billion (Pakistan might not get this loan, current foreign debt on country is already around $ 45 Bl) hence, Govt. is trying to maximize its sources of income... Taxation is one source and govt. is planning to levy more taxes on corporate sector (like gross asset tax, carbon tax etc.), why will govt. reduce tax rates for auto industry in this hunt?

We all should pray for an early prosperity!

Interesting thread, well rumor is around that prices will drop but how far this is credible no one knows as yet. But I guess we all want to this to happen so pray hard.

I was going to buy Reborn but I have put on hold with hope that priceses will go down.

    God Bless Pakistan.
