brother u r wrong we dont need oil in fuel tank if the oil tank n filter is working properly....
go brother confirm from some literate person not from some mechanic
regards
Useful info..... @cvanesk..... 2 stroke engine me u always need oil beside petrol
True in a a way we don't need it but adding Oil in tank despite the Oil Pump working only helps cool the engine and make it more durable provided you don't mix more than ts actually required. It helps especially when one head's out for a long journey, not mentioning how hot it usually gets these days in Karachi. I don't see myself running my bikes without oil being mixed in petrol despite the oil pump being active.
@yamaha135which bike do you have.
Adding oil in tank also prevents from tanks rusting, I recommend adding oil in alternate refueling, if side pump is working well.
There is oil pump in 2 stroks. Its very bad thing to put oil in the tank.
My Father got 1992 Yamaha and still got its original engine. Not opened. He says never ever put oil in the tank.
yamaha has good oil pump.i have rx115 1982 n never put oil in tank. still workin great
My oil pump of GTO125 also works fine, but I add a little bit oil in tank as well, if Suzuki Alto and RX115 says that dont mix oil, I wont, but who would pay if I get my engine ceased .
@2468 Dear it will be ur own decession and u will have to pay byself foe seazed engine.but i trust on my toy
I have met several 2 stroke enthusiasts over a period of 20 years. Most of them advocate addition of 2 stroke engine oil in the tank at a ratio of 1:30.(one part of oil to 30 parts of petrol ). It is true that manufacturer has provided oil pump for the purpose of lubrication in the combustion chamber but , very often the pump is not functioning properly. So added lubrication through fuel compensates for the risk. Over lubrication never does the kind of harm that comes from under lubrication.I own two 2 , 2 stroke bikes right now and have always owned one or the other yamaha and kawasaki. Personally I have always added oil to the fuel tank and it has been a safe and desirable practice with me.
I personally think adding oil with petrol (specific ratio) prevents so other risks. Kawasaki, as I have noticed it gets very hot when not adding oil with petrol ( specific amount absolutely) despite of the fact that side tank is working properly.Or else the old one's dealing with 2 stroke engine can comment on it better
Do you still own a 2T? I'll appreciate if you guide me about some professional "USTAD" for YB100 in Karachi? Bike never runs at it's optimum after tuning by anaarhi mechanics.
putting oil in tank will prevent tank from rusting but if oil mixed with petrol will not good for engine
