Bajaj Pulsar was coming in 150,180,200,220cc models and earlier 220cc model came only with fuel-injection technology.Pulsar 150,180 and 220cc got a makeup for 2009 range.

Now ,Bajaj Scrapped Fuel Injection from 220cc model and in turn achieved a increase in "1" bhp .Currently Pulsar 220cc with carburettor is the top speed model - a real 145kmph is achieved officially.power is 21ps@8500rpm and torque 19.12Nm@7000rpm.front and rear disc brakes.

The FI unit is replaced by the biggest carburetor seen on any current Indian production bike – a UCAL UCD 32 Venturi unit

By Going for Old technology aka CV carburettors ,Pulsar 220cc is available for Indian Rupees 70000 ex-showroom.around 11000 rupees less than DTS-FI Pulsar 220 model;it's predecessor.

    TVS APACHE RTR 180cc

South Indian bike maker's flagship model gets a capacity upgrade. Competitive pricing and features set to take the battle to the Bajaj Pulsar 180 DTSi.

TVS Motor Company has launched its new performance bike for the Indian market. The Apache RTR 180 takes the company's flagship Apache RTR brand further with a displacement upgrade to 180cc, apart from some interesting additional features.

Based on the earlier Apache RTR 160, the company claims that the RTR 180 is pegged at about the same weight as its predecessor of 137 kilograms. The larger engine now makes it churn out a peak power of 17.3bhp at a high-revving 8500rpm, and the peak torque of 15.5Nm kicks in at 6500rpm. The new RTR shares a similar chassis and suspension setup to the RTR 160, with gas charged shock absorbers at the rear.

New for the bike apart from the engine are the front and rear petal disc brakes (which were also seen on the fuel-injected version of the RTR 160), new graphics and some appealing new colours like the pearl white seen in the picture.

The new RTR 180 will be taking the fight to Bajaj Auto's recently revamped Pulsar 180 DTSi. Priced competitively in the Pulsar 180's vicinity at Rs 63,900 (ex-showroom Delhi) and Rs 64,900 (ex-showroom, rest of India), the RTR will be relying on its extra bits like the front and rear disc brakes and its snazzy design to take on the Bajaj offering. There's a show-off between the two in the offing soon on

Apache RTR 180cc based on legendery Suzuki Fiero with "Racing DNA"(TVS racing uses these bikes and evolved with indigenous research!).RTR 160cc is also marketed in India.got rear disc brakes as well.

    Review here:

    http://bikeindia.in/reviews/firstride/TVS-Apache-180---Big-Brother/

I think Apache 180cc looks better than Pulsar 220. and as usual hero honda is lagging behind the race with their old horse - "Karizma" -a 223cc bike first released on 2003.many knows it via MTV Roadies program et al.

Current Models of Apache available in India:

yes.that is true.also ,Bajaj Pulsar has concentrated on Indian market.selling in huge numbers.Bikers are so bored of pulsar .but with P220(pulsar 220) and some race specific tuning ,that bike will sure do 160kmph.also ,the weight of 160kg gives some stability to the bike.

BTW,Expecting kawasaki ninja 250 release soon in India by Bajaj.also bajaj got plans for bikes made from collaboration with KTM Motorcycles where Bajaj have some stakes.

Waiting for Bajaj Kawasaki Ninja 250 (small kwaker!) release in India. It is rumoured that bajaj will localize the components to around 80% if I remember correctly. The Price will come down in that case.If Ninja made available for 2lakhs Indian Rupees ,it will be steal of a deal!

The time to rejoice for many a biker is just around the corner for Bajaj has finally given out a clearer understanding as to when they will finally launch the KTM bikes and the much awaited Kawasaki Ninja 250 in India.

No doubt, the wait has been long, as the news first made its way around at the 2008 Auto Expo, however market scenarios change and companies need to take the right measures before introducing a new model into the country. There is enough being said about these particular bikes at the moment and Bajaj is definitely working towards making these dream machines a reality.

    KTM:

Post the 2008 Auto Expo held in Delhi, Bajaj has been working very closely with KTM to make two new bikes for the Indian market. Those in the know will remember that Bajaj has now acquired a 40 per cent stake in KTM, so the plans are extremely serious and not some far fetched PR gimmick.

Bajaj-KTM, if I may call it that, is set to introduce their bikes in 2010. When exactly, is yet to be confirmed, but the fact that 2010 is also the year for the Auto Expo in Delhi, I would not rule out a January launch, for at least one of the products.

    Kawasaki Ninja 250:

The Kawasaki Ninja 250 is another bike that Bajaj stated they would bring in to the country at the 2008 Auto Expo. It has been a long wait for this dream machine and die hard fans have kept track of this bike throughout. We at Zigwheels continue to get inquiries regarding this bike, well let me say that we share your enthusiasm and we too have been waiting for this bike.

Bajaj has claimed that the Ninja 250 will indeed come to India within the next 3 months! The bike will come in as a CBU product and is touted to have a price tag of over Rs 2 lakh at the time of launch.

It might have taken an additional year to get here, but the Ninja 250 launch will happen by September this year, so if you think 3 months is a long time, my suggestion would be to plan ahead and start saving up the dough, for this is one bike that you absolutely must have in your garage.
