Sour Grapes or whatever, learn to respect other's opinion, i dont like it because i have rode it, first-hand experience, the 2 cylinder kawasaki 250 is Not as nice as the cbr 250 and the suzuki bandit 250, you ll only feel the difference once you ride a 4 cylinder one and then this 2 cylinder kawasaki.
The difference to me was Very clear, if you have any point to prove, send me some links where they have compared both 2 cylinder 8 valves and 4 cylinder 16 valve ones in 250cc category, this way you can correct me too.

those bikes have long been discontinued (in mid 90's). Honda or Suzuki don't produce or sell them anymore. the best 250 cc available currently out there is the Ninja 250R. the nect best alternative is the Hyosung GTR250.

its like living with the memory of the GTO 125 sold once in Pakistan. Move on

Honda NSR 250 is what I like more in 250 cc class, and yes GTO 125 is still one of the best in 125cc category

You want to know the top speed of the so-called Sport bike that is r-15 ?
    http://www.youtube.com/results?searc...rch_type=&aq=f

Back in 1983, my big brother bought Kawasaki KE-175, an "Off-Roader" Not a "Sports Bike" and he claims to this day that he achieved 170 kms/hour many times on it on the Highway

Sports Bike ? forget the Sports thing, Kawasaki GTO-125 is better, 160 that thing can do for a mere 125cc that too first made in 1980 and Not for "Sports" !

From the specs of R-15 & GTO-125 I can say R-15 is faster than GTO.

i never knew that kawasaki ever had a 2 cylinder 250.. and yes kawasaki is the best in 250 and 600 class...i have kept 5 gto 125s , bandit , zx2r ...i love zx2r overl all of them... gto or some other may reach to 160 and cause i did that! i never wana do it again... performance is the word we should all remember...its not the top speed, the machine should also withstand that speed .... at 160 125s are shaky and scarry.. thats the truth ... and congrats to indian for such a nice launch.. if they launch here i will surely buy

LOL! .Well ,I too had My Biking Days started Somewhere 1994 onwards.Desiboy - 2 Strokers ka Raaj Hota Tha Us time me.Yamaha RX100s,Twin Engined 2 stroker Yamaha RD350s,Suzuki Shogun,Yezdi Twins(250,350cc 2 stroke) and lastly Indian GTO125 aka KB100/125RTZ(It is a Good Bike ,though not so famous latter days). Those times Hero Honda CD100s are only known as "Mileage Kings".2 strokers are great to Ride and I owned Yamaha RX100 and RX135s.These are maintanence free bikes and simple Engines and Mechanisms compared to 4 stroke bikes. Also ,During Those days ,Yamaha RX100s got Racing Kits with Oversize Bore(Cylinder Kits) available.Yezdi Roadking can climb to 125kmph speeds though not as fast as Yamahas. But ,in Indian Context ,these Bikes are OBSOLETE Now.Spares availability is now tough for even RX100s too.The Death of 2 strokers are due to non confirming to Pollution limits(Bharat Stage/EURO).Anyways ,it is always a great feeling to get ride a 2 stroker like Yamaha.Unless there is alternate technologies to make 2 strokers eco-friendly ,there is nothing much to expect for 2 strokers in world context.

Ninja250R is slated for Launch on October 7th in India.

Kawasaki Ninja 250R- when the legend was born
    /h2

The Japanese automaker Kawasaki had introduced its entry-level sportsbike from its Ninja series in year 1983 as Kawasaki Ninja EX250. Since then this bike is doing wonders for Kawasaki all over the world. The Ninja EX250 is known for its superb light handling, awesome performance and great styling with excellent fuel efficiency in its class. The bike has undergone a few changes ever since it was launched with two major design changes.

Oct 7 Kawasaki Ninja 250R launch in India -1000786

Broadly there are four generation of Ninja EX250 rolled out from Kawasaki’s stable all over the world, all four generations of the bike can be identified from the alphabetical suffix added after EX250 (EX250-F/G/H etc.) The Kawasaki Ninja 250R which is going to be launched here in India soon by Bajaj is the latest fourth generation Ninja EX250- J.

Oct 7 Kawasaki Ninja 250R launch in India -1000787

The Kawasaki Ninja 250R has gone through the major cosmetic changes ever in EX250 series. The bike has transformed into the modern compact and slimmer look, however I personally like more the retro & bulky looks of the previous generation EX250 bikes. The latest Ninja 250R shares approx 30% engine parts with the previous models with few significant changes in engine’s compression ratio and drive train. Apart from these changes the size of the wheel is also augmented to 17 inches, front suspensions are also beefed up with front brake disc changed to latest race driven “Petal” shaped one. All these changes are brought in by compromising the overall weight of the bike which has increased by 10Kgs in new Ninja 250R as compared to its older versions.

    • Lightweight alloy pistons

    • High compression ratio

    • Automatic Cam chain tensioner
      /li

    • Advanced liquid cooling
      /li

    • 6- speed transmission with Positive neutral finder
      /li

    • Petal shaped front Disc brakes
      /li

    • Overall lighter Dry weight
      /li

    • Low seat height

    • Rider friendly ergonomics

On the launch of Kawasaki Ninja 250R in other part of the World, Kawasaki had to say this:

“With a high-output engine nestled in a lightweight, compact chassis, the Kawasaki Ninja 250R sportsbike makes a perfect starting point for budding motorcyclists. The Ninja 250R offers the legendary performance and aggressive styling that only a Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle can provide at an economical price, making it the ideal choice for new sportsbike enthusiasts.”
What do we have to say? We sincerely hope that Kawasaki Ninja 250R would bring revolution in Sports biking in India, however it is yet to be seen that actually how economical is the bike for even a common Indian bike enthusiast.

We will bring all news and previews pertaining to launch of Kawasaki Ninja 250R, till then stay tuned to BikeBhp.
