If this bike gets fully localized then price will come down to 1.4 lakhs.Just subtract 100% import duty.

the front number plate is a govt of India regulation and hence need to be complied with by the manufacturer. the customers usually remove it and put the registration numbers on the visor or the front mudguard.

at 3 lakhs, the Ninja 250 is actually priced at par of what it sells in europe. considering the Indian version is exactly same as the european version, the price tag is quite just. at least it is not as highly proced as the 1000cc bikes like the R1 and the Hayabusa, which are sold with 100% import duties.

India and Pakistan have HUGE duties on Imports, 1.5 lac rupees would be such a Nice price for this bike, that is 2.25 lac rupees Pakistani.

1.5 lakhs Indian rupees for this bike is impossible. the international price itself is 3.1 lakhs in UK. At least it is being sold at the same international price in India.

The Ninja 250R is being assembled in India by Bajaj auto by bringing the parts as Completely Knocked Down form. That's why it was possible to price the bike at its international price. Otherwise, had 100% import duties been levied, the bike would have cost 6 lakhs!!!!

@Desiboy: 1.5 lakh price is indeed possible.just check the specifications of the Bike closely. Moreover ,Bajaj and Kawaski is not at loss ,because ,these bikes are brought down from thailand as CKD .India has free trade agreement with Thailand.

So ,In all Essence ,A Localized Bajaj Wanna Be Ninja can be expected in few years or Ninja itself will be sold here at cheaper price.I mean ,if everything comes down as expected(Economy).

I would want the Ninja 250 to remain exclusive. If priced at 1.5 lakh rupees, it would become a common bike like the R15.
