Default need good books on bike mechanics

i need good books on bike mechanics. it should have relevance with the kind of bikes available here aka 4 stroke carbureted .. books in english are prefered but urdu ones would also do ... soft copies of books will be very much appreciated..

if any one has any good book in hard format do scan it into soft copy for convinence

also do atlas honda or other bike manafacturers publish the repair manuals of the bikes .. ? i have seen quite a few in urdu at one shop ... but they were not kind enough to lend me the books...

    thnks

The Complete Guide To Motorcycle Mechanics, (2nd Edition)

I recently purchased this book to get a thorough understanding of motorcycle mechanics and repair/troubleshooting. Far from it! The title itself "The Complete Guide to Motorcycle Mechanics" should read "The Incomplete Guide .. .". This book is very top level and lacks technical content in every respect. The topics are brief and contain hardly any meaniful substance. You'll be asking yourself "where's the beef". Plus, all of the photo's are in black & white and alot are of poor quality. In my opinion I would not be surprised if this book was written by a bunch of high school students doing a last minute class project hoping to squeak by with a "D" - like "D" for Done. The retail price (no fault of Amazon) is way over-priced. You're better off looking at other books or stick to your favorite motorcycle magazine that covers "how to's". You'll learn more with them in a few pages than you will reading this book. Bottom line, pass up this book and buy something else through Amazon. After all they are the best!

thanks for the guidance.... however i never buy books online especially if i haven't heard anything good about it... for buying books i alway going personally to the book shop and judging it there and then buying if it stands to the required level/standard...

however i was more interested in buying something available local that has some good rating to it ...

If you uploaded that Urdu manual, I suggest you mention that in the file name or description as 'motorcycle repair' will appear in a lot of searches from people who don't understand Urdu.

There are a lot of owner's and service manuals for bikes in USA and Europe available on the Internet but we don't have those bikes. You should try to get the service manual for your bike. It won't have the theory but it will give you a better idea of the working of your bike.

yar i do not need owners manual ... that contains nothing more then tightening nuts and bolts... i have that "owners Manual"

What i need is Service Manual or some other book about motorcycle and its components like the above urdu but in a bit grt detail and clear figures.. and illustrations..

    i like international authors books

but the problem is that i cant find one in market...

by the way i could nt get the meaning of ur first paragram about searching and name...what u mean ?

    @asjdsm

I don't think that any single book will cover your requirement. There are lot of bike makers in the world right now, making different kind of machines. Besides, no one would bother to write a book on the mechanics of bikes like CD70, YB100 etc. primarily bcoz no one would read it and bcoz service manuals cover it all, and also bcoz majority people woud rather go to a mechanic than read a book ant adventure something their own.

I mean the file is on 4shared.com, everyone from around the world searching for 'motorcycle repair' will get the Urdu book as a search result, almost all of these people don't understand Urdu, so rename the file to 'motorcycle repair-UrduLanguage.pdf' or something similar or add a comment that it is in Urdu language. When searching for stuff about Suzuki GS150, most of the pages I got were in Tagalog(language of the Philippines).

There are a lot of bike service manuals available on the Internet, but I haven't found any for a small 4-stroke single cylinder road bike, like the ones we have in Pakistan.

That is the Owner's manual, not service manual, I was talking specifically about service manuals.
