    Default Importing a Kawasaki Ninja 250R

    Aoa, I have a few questions, so please people help me out.

    How much would it cost to import a brand new 2010 or 2009 model Kawasaki Ninja 250r, with all taxes and duties included? And...

    Is there any suitable dealer in Karachi from whom I can import this bike?

    Bro isnt that a very big underestimation??

    I mean its 4299$ for a 2010 model, and then the basic tax is (250x6= 1500$)

    So 4300 plus 1500 will amount to 5800$ which is 4.93 lakhs in rupees. And thats not including the sales and income tax...

    @Sorax

    Might be that, the taxes might have increased. But if you knew then why did you ask for import cost?

    @Getafix

    This R4 has not been launched yet so its price is still unknown.

    well ..according to my psychic evaluation (psychic source : 2010 Ninja® 250R Sport - Kawasaki.com)

    a Ninja 250R sport costs 4299$...convert that to our superior currency and u get an amount of 365415 Rs. (dollar is around 85)

    at this point most of us would think...sweet ..we can buy an old 400 in a sweet condition for that price...but it gets better

    import duty...last time i checked...it was 80% of the bike's price..if its changed now..forgive me...but according to 80%...the duty is..292332 Rs.

    applying the magical rule of mathematical addition we generate a figure

    365415 + 292332 = 657747 (PKR)

    and if ur still intrested in importing one...spare around 50K for the freight and stuff...and dont forget the bribe of the custom and clearing port officials ..

    hope that was conclusive...but do note..that i have been out of this scene for about a year...so my info might be wrong..and if it is...i'd be happy to be corrected.

    Thanks. That's one heck of a ridiculous tax. I guess it may be cheaper to import a 2008 or 09 model instead...
