    Post Suzuki Sprinter rim-piston

    Hey Friends,

How are you? Well now you might think that "enough of Faisal" we are tired, he wants to buy a bike or fill this site and community with questions, but I guess the more questions I make, the knowledge of me and other(s) reading them also increase.

Please help me out, a friend you might know if have read my old threads, that sending I mean selling me sprinter ECO 2007 for 25k, according to him it's alright.

An other friend, infact he is not a friend he is a shopkeeper whose shop I use to visit few times in last few months, today I talked with him about sprinter and he said that his sprinter is perfect and working great, he just changed the RIM-PISTON a few weeks back and bike is fit-n-fine now, it's 2008 model, he is interested in selling.

So my simple question, if RIM-PISTON is changed, does it means engine would ask money very frequently or it means that engine is good for atleast a year to come?

And also in the situation "I told above" how much should I say him for his 2008 sprinter "RIM-PISTON" changed.

Thanks once again, I really look forward for help from great people here around.

    Faisal.

^ Rim piston or ring piston?
The rim and the piston are two different things.
Your mechanic must be talking about "Ring and piston".
One of the most difficult things in the world is to know how to do something, and to watch without comment, somebody else do it incorrectly.

    ^ Agreed.
The rings and the piston dont wear out that easily.
Piston usually gets seized whenever an engine is run without suffiecent or very low oil level.
So you can imagine the condition of a bike that was owned by a person who was so careless that he didnt even bothered to check the oil level of his bike.
Think twice before buying such kind of bikes as they can be a headache for you in future.

^ yes agreed with daniyal bro..

My bro has 1998 Honda CD70 and after 12 Years of daily use in 2010 we had its engine opened and re done! So... better watch out b4 u invest in tht bike, pitty is some bikes are irrepairable to proper condition no matter how much money u spend or how much mechanics u take it to.... :x

I had an old Yamaha Royal, 2 Stroke and it always gave me start up problems.. i got its engine rebuild twice(1st time seized) , and got its carburator parts changed/adjusted/checked from a dozen mechanics still no use... it kept pis_sing me off, nd then i sold it n got new Alhamdolillah i happy now.

So dont think tht after spending a few bucks tht ride cud be perfectly restored... u might have 2 spend money again n again n again.. time taking + teasing + money wasting + depressing job!! I knw.. iv gone thru it..

Gudluck! Get her checked from various good places b4 u decide 2 go 4 it.. cheers.

Be aware! Usually mechanic quickly judge a newbie in the field and fool em... 4 e.g. u knw a mechanic, its near ur home.. u think i knw him from alot of time, he seems 2 b trustable? but mechnic thinks the other way.. He knws u too... he knws u live near by and if he wud buy u troubled bike!! U will always take it 2 him when it troubles...!!! So !! Mechanics love to make money out of old troubled bikes! coz har chotay motay kaam ka.. 100 dedo, 200 dedo etc etc... Sb chor hen

U have 2 keep a constant watchout and have good knowledge of this stuff 2 avoid beeing fooled!
