Lightbulb Hi-Octane: Yes or no for motor-bikes?

Lately, I have been thinking on whether I should go for hi-octane for my brand-new HONDA CD 100 or not. I asked a different people and all had varying opinions. Majority recommended hi-octane, while a few ruled it out altogether stating that hi-octane is meant for high compression ratio engines.

...it MIGHT add a few horse power to a More Poweful engine (Talking about bigger engines, cars etc not bike's), but it wont give you a good fuel consumption ... no way. And its generally used in engines having more compression ratio....

I am very confused on these exactly opposite opinions. Let's do a dissection of this issue brining-forth its pros and cons, and come up with a resolution on whether it's a go ahead or unnecessary to use HI-Octane for bikes' engines.

using hi-octane in ur bike will neither do any good nor will harm ur engine.
basically as said my many other if the compression ratios of engine is high only them hi-octane is used as it does not ignite under high pressure w/o spark.
bottom line: use it if u dun like to have a mcdonalds from the money that u will savin by not usin it.
every day i wake up and die a little.

Specific RON octane values are recommended for cars..Same is appiled on bikes..Check your manual for recommended octane rating..Or buy a bigger displacement bike
The one thing that unites all human beings, regardless of age, gender, religion, economic status, is that, deep down inside, we all believe that we are above-average drivers.
