    Default My new suzuki GS150

brother, last day on Oct-2, i purchased my new GS150, i m facing some problems, bike RPM is around 4000, in neutral phase, its being heated up, one thing more i have sense lot of smell, does it because of sealing? any danger of this?
i am also required some serious suggestion about the engine oil, what it should be? i heard alto that GS150 recommend 10w40.
if i use synthetic oil like ZIC? does it reduce my bike's life as compared to the natural oil?
    strong expert opinions are required,

first of all congrats on ur new purchase, regarding rpm , there is usually a screws on the carbeurator,at the right side, one with a spring under it i think, it controls the RPMs of the engine , rotate it to the anticlockwise till ur rpms are in the range of 1500 to 1000,
regarding smell, wat sort of smell it is , if its of petrol, check if ur choke isnt pulled up, the choke is on the right side of the carbeurator, its a one with big black head , push it downwords if it has been lifted up , i hope it solves ur problem

as u also said its heating up , so the best option is not to run it and go to the company shop immediately to get a thorough check up ,

well i had kept GS 150 in the past and the best oil is Caltex Havoline 20w/50 according to my experience, its natural one , u will hear a lot of people talkin abot many brands but Caltex havouline is truested one , , only if u buy from a well known Caltex Pump, Regarding 10w40 , it will be a thinner oil and i will nt recommend due to heat conditions of our country

    @wajoodjam

Congratulations for new Bike. My comments to ur quires are as below,

    1. The feel of getting heat up is bcoz of idle RPM is set to ~ 4K which shud be ~1.5K. (Better to get it checked from service center)
    2. The smell coming from engine is because of 1st time heating up of diffrent engine parts like engine side covers Cylincers etc.
    3. Regarding Oil just stick to recomended viscosity i.e. 10W-40 as far as grade oil & brand is concern u have diffrent options. Caltex Havoline is good oil but i wudnt recomend 20W-50 thats too thick & 50grade oil is generaly meant for a bit weak engines. SO the best choice in minerals oil wud be Havoline 20W-40 or if u want synthetic than there is a new product in market from ZIC specialy made for bikes its viscosity is 10W-40 & API grade is M i think.
For the new engines its better to use synthetic oils to increase the engine life & performance.

thanx alot for your suggestions bro.
have adjusted it from service center, RPM is Controlled, but still its heated up, i mean after driving of just 15-17km its heated up its hotness can be feel from tANKY, WHICH is also very warm(obviously i cant touch the engine).
that's the only thing which still trouble me a lot.
2nd thing i want to ask about ruunig period? how it should be done? with top gear at 40-45km/h around 4000-4500RPM? m still driving in that range, is that okay?

    Congrats!
One of my favourite machines available in the market these days.
I had plans of getting one but instead ended up in restoring my CD.
One of the most difficult things in the world is to know how to do something, and to watch without comment, somebody else do it incorrectly.

make sure ur not driving it too much in low gears i mean 1st and 2nd one , generally bigger engines heat up more than the small ones its natural, but still if u think its abnormal go to service center for a check
