    Default My new suzuki GS150

brother, last day on Oct-2, i purchased my new GS150, i m facing some problems, bike RPM is around 4000, in neutral phase, its being heated up, one thing more i have sense lot of smell, does it because of sealing? any danger of this?
i am also required some serious suggestion about the engine oil, what it should be? i heard alto that GS150 recommend 10w40.
if i use synthetic oil like ZIC? does it reduce my bike's life as compared to the natural oil?
    strong expert opinions are required,

ABS is a qucikly common become feature in new bikes and scooters dude.. they are not rare. I remember a family member bought Fancy Hero 125cc bike (China manufacturer) And it had ABS disks in its front tyre... If such a low priced ordinary bike could have it many others can also have this feature..

ur right but it also depends upon its effectiveness , whether it is working properly in such a low priced bike , means it shud not jam the wheel no matter what are the road conditions

Thanks for the clarification. Otherwise some guys think that abs disk brakes are as scarce as hen's teeth.

they are scarce in a country like pakistan where still a large no. of comapnies are providing drum brakes ,
they cant even provide a disk brake in a bike of 85000, so we shud stop thinking they can provide an ABS one
its just like if u dont have bread, eat cake instead

hmmm. so now you have excluded the whole world from this abs disc brakes scenario. ok. I agree with you now, keeping in view only Pakistan scenario.

But our Dilemma is that Most of the Bike riders (~80% my own rough estimate as per my circle) even didnt use front brakes regardless of their type e.i. Drum, Disk or etc.
Still there are very less audience who want some real advancement in Automobiles On this forum there are certain Fan groups for Storm 125, GS 150 & CG DLux but regardless of distinct X-tics these bikes have, most of the target audience do not like these bikes just becoz these bikes didnt have better resale, unavailablity of cheap parts, & Service persons

We people disscussing on these web forums are not even 1 % of actual market & the manufatcurer always do as per market requirments some examples are very obviuos like is 2002 Yamaha launches YB 100 Excellance wid a minute but attractive changes in Body parts but market discourage it & they stop it rite after 1~2 years. in 2006 Honda stops production of CG 125 regular & launches CG DLux but the response from market was very poor so they re launch their old product parallel to Dlux.
Its almost 5 year since GS 125/150 & CG DLux are in market & both bikes are far better than of CG 125 classic but still they didnt have that respect in market.

    @imran
agreed , no matter how advance bikes companies will produce , but still a large no. of public will buy ordinary 125, at the same time they are complaining abt its hard seat , stiff shocks , less control and heavy vibrations , but on the other end they are defending against it
Regarding ur disc brake experience ur 100% right
my dad used to own a GTO 110, people always asked him , how does he manage to use a disc brake , and did he slip ? etc
but at the same instant when i look at the neighbor country, there is totally opposite scenario , means thier small bikes are even equipped with latest features , although there is only a mere difference btw choice of the people of both regions , so it means that regardless of what people want at moment, companies should improve their bikes with new features , and stop the production of the old models , people will be forced to buy a good thing , if they will nt have any other option

jab tak demand hai tab tak product bhi rahe ga. why do honda or suzuki need to spend money in R&D to give a better product when their existing products are selling so well? very less people actually want a change. generally people are happy with their 70s and 125s. here at pakwheels not even 100 people are advocating for better bikes and when u compare that to the millions of bike sold by honda and suzuki then u can clearly see that we do not even represent a small fraction. unless majority of the people demand a change there will be none.

Advice Needed for Bike Purchase please!

Greetings, I am interested in buying a new bike for myself. At present I have a Honda CD-70. I have used it for 5 years - with its engine remade twice during this period! However, of late, I need an upgrade in engine power to get to and from work quicker. Though I am interested to buy GS-150, most threads here at "PAKWHEELS" has shied me away from it as the opinions expressed here seem tilted in favor of CG125 / or its variant the Deluxe model. Now I am finding myself caught between devil and the sea! On the one hand, I do not like Honda's kick-start feature and unnecessary LOUD silencer noise. However, on the other hand I also have came across numerous flip sides of GS150 that have deterred me from purchasing it with confidence. Following are the points, that I jotted down from most of PAKWHEELS discussions on similar discussion forums:
    1. Head Light - untidy magic epoxy inside the head light
    2. Battery mounting and holding belts are either missing or of a bad quality
    3. Tyre (rear) appears too small and unreliable as it punctures more than often. Therefore, buyers are replacing those with Thailand IRC-NR28 or SriLankan 100/90 - 18" tubeless tyre (but they still tend to put in the tube, because otherwise GS-150's low quality wheel rim tends to 'bite' the tube and thus puncture it)
    4. Side mirrors are of inferior quality
    5. Paint job quality is poor. Because of this mudguards, rims, chain covers and spoke parts start becoming rusty very early. Buyers also have found AFTER buying for chipped body paint on their GS-150s
    6. Speedometer Assembly Cable has problems
    7. Timing chain has problems
    8. RPM are high even once the bike is in Neutral gear
    9. Qualified mechanics are not available - even with the seller show-rooms. New customers keep visiting their respective show-rooms but are informed that their mechanic is unavailable.
    10. Spare parts are unavailable. Once, after repeated customer visits, one does get then those are of inferior quality
    11. Most buyers complained of following most affected accessories of GS-150:
    a. Lights
    b. Brake and clutch Cables
    c. Side view mirrors
    d. Rubber parts like gromets etc
    e. Paint and chrome
    12. Battery cover lock is not given!!!
    13. Tool Box cover lock is not given!!!
    14. Indicators are without screws and are not flexible
    15. Battery box and tool box cover clips (nakkay) are bad due to design and quality
    16. Build quality is NOT good
    17. Rear wheel / Tyre is always out (lehraa k chalta hey)
    18. Problem with chain sproket (clutch chorro to 'khatt' key aawaz aatee hey)
    19. Breaks are very weak. NO Disc Breaks
    20. Rubber dampers below seat get faulty
Guys, I know I got lengthy. However, I wanted to cover comprehensively as GS-150 price is pretty dear. I therefore, being a middle class person, cannot afford to make costly mistakes. Please note that I have not focused on RESALE aspect of GS-150 once compared to CG 125
Bro, can you help me in deciding please as you already have used both GS150 as well as CG125. Also, kindly advise about any news of Suzuki bringing out newer design model of GS150 any time next year? Or perhaps Honda rolling out their 150 cc Bike?
    wasalam wa dua
