i m not quite sure but this rule does,t exist on bikes rather u can import it by the rule of T.T.R (temrarely transfer of residence) or in scrap.
u cant also import it in gift scheme........bikes hav its own catagory....

Only new bikes can be imported .... You can also import not more than 3 year old bike under Transfer of Residence scheme (TR) ..... for new bikes duty is 5$ /cc and for under TR it is 3$/cc .... hope u got some info from the reply .... and the 5 year policy is only for cars ....

    @ Loveshaken ..

No 5x250 will only calculate its value ... after that there are certain taxes like ; Custom duty 65% , Sales Tax 17% , and many more but according to my calculation (5$) u have to pay abt 120,000/- when it lands on the port or airport .... but a few days back some 1 told me that now that 5$ has been increased to 11$ ......

    Problem solved ?
