    Default In my 70cc I got 5th gear "maza" but lost 1st gear power

    Hi all.
    Originally the Drive Chain sprockets were 14 and 41 teeth front and rear respectively.
    I bought 17 (Rs 85) and 34 (Rs 180) teeth sprockets (Rs 100 labor) and now my motorcycle runs at much lower revs at the same speed. Each gear is one step higher. First is second etc. 4th is a true fifth. Great lower sound at high speed.
    Lost hard acceleration. Got relaxed engine. Less oil churning means less energy lost in oil and more efficiency. Sometimes there is knocking in first gear. Im happy. Anyone want to try this? I ride at 40 km/h, now I do 50 with easy engine sound. Economy still 70 km/ltr there about. Need to remeasure.

    There is a big rpm drop going from 3rd to 4th.

    I realized even before, but I fell in love with alteration. Original 14-41. First 15-41 teeth. Then 15-37. Then 16-37. Then 17-37. Then finally 17-34. It was a step by step process. Not a sudden jump. Each jump was calculated. I knew I could jump higher, so I did.
    I have seen 70 with two people and climbing to pir suhawa Islamabad 30 degree incline very easily. It has great power. More power than I need on flat roads.
    Am I happy with 17-34? Yes I am. No regrets. Will I stay at 17-34 or go back to 14-41? Will stay. Do I recommend this? Yes.

    i did not say that you r wrong... and top speed bhi tu check honi chayee yaar... per DIY karny say experience to milta hai.. key kia kab or kasy karna chayeee...

    Its just that personally I dont like the high rpm sound even at 40 km/hr. I prefer low relaxed sound. And I have it now.

    Go for 1.6 Six Speed Altis than with two person on 70 almost feels dead so I think you should use your creativity skills some where else

    Yes my top speed is 62 instead of 80 originally. Checked it Saturday night. Thats bad but I dont go above 45 so the low rpm is good. Bad for racing, good for economy and safety and engine life.

    With all that modification, do not drive it at a very low speed, doing so will wear down the engine soon. Since the lowest gear is 2nd, avoid driving it at the first gear speed and do not give sudden throttle when starting from zero speed at signals, etc.
