You are showing what is probably a really oldschool 2 stroke, yes the principle is the same to date, but additions like
Reed Valve induction (preventing carburettor backwash)
Expansion chamber
Exhaust rotary powervalve
port stagger
All of the above working in harmony provide a very powerful output - the problem with the output is its very snappy, like a snake attacking as compared to a 4 stroke where the power is tractable - like a very big horse - slow but steady
