    Default plz help

    salam to all ..

    i own a ravi piaggio for the last two years and i just love it.. the thing is that some days ago i just wanted to check the top speed of the bike ( i am not a racer type of guy and i prefer not to go above 60) and i was quite disoppointed to see the bike touching 80 and making no progress with the speed on plain road.....why was that ??

    i dont post on the fourms but i am a regular visitor and reader of the posts. i saw in a post where some one wrote the maximum speeds per gear....
    according to him ...ist gear 50.....( mine is 20)
    2nd gear 60....( mine is 40)
    3rd gear 80....( mine is 60) and mine doest nt fo above 80 and it just merely reaches 80..

    i went to differnt mechnics and they told me nothing is wrong with the bike it needs proper tuning .... i did that but nothing special happened ...

    what should i do ..... plz help????? its a 2010 model
    plz help -276562

    You should try dragging the bike in gears... change the spark plug .... and take the bike to max in its gears.... Also check ur tappet settings.....
    i hope other experts will also help you but try digging threads on it. I also have the same bike and it touches 100kmph not a big deal

    Brother final performance much depends on how you break-in the engine. Usually if the engine run in has been done too softly, it does open up properly. Im afraid that might be the case with your bike. As syedhasan92110 suggested, try changing the spark plug and go to a good mechanic to get a perfect air-fuel ratio set up. That should help the top speed. Short shifting might help as well.

    Means your bike didn't go through proper break in procedure, bike has been treated like a baby in other words, you will find post related for break in procedure.
    You should use NGK Japanese spark plug instead of custom Chinese installed or Iridium tip plug , one of the members @ Pak Wheels Tabi_Hawk is selling that iridium plug, search the threads and you will find out.
    You should use Caltex Havoline , that is good in quality but go for an original one. People are selling refilled bottles so be aware. other engine oil like, Total, Askari, or Zic also have good performance but you have to change them a bit earlier.

    @maaz
    brother dont worry about the speed, you can take the same bike which hardly touches 80kmph bike to 120+ with some alteration but it actually decreases your engine life. e.g. if your normal bike will last ten years altered bike will start giving you problems after few years.

    I think someone mentioned on an earlier thread here that the top speed of this bike is 80kph. If that's true then there is nothing wrong with your bike or else this fault comes with every Piaggio.
    Apart from that, make sure that both front and rear brakes are not too tight so as to cause free movement of the bike, easy way to see that is by putting the bike on double stand and by moving the tyres with hand. Last year I experienced same issue with my CG125 and that was due to too much tight rear brake after putting new leathers.
