Question Project Dhoom YD 70 Upgrade to 110cc

    hi
as the title suggests.. i have undertaken this small project.. so far i have made my bike partially ready.. here is what i have done so far..

    1:installed a 4 wheeler Cylinder of 107cc capacity
2: and a corresponding Cylinder head..

both the things were just bolt on fit.. no new timing chain was needed..
i also upgraded to an after market china carburettor that comes for qingqi 100cc rickshaw.. did nothing to the jets ..mixture is a bit rich but proper setting is needed.current jets are unlabelled. however from spark plug reading mixture is in acceptable range...

So far results are quite decent...pick is increased . very much..it reaches speeds of 80 in fairly short time..top speed is 90 but it severely vibrates past or close to speeds at 80. current sprockets are 14/41 default..
    UPDATE [17/06/2012]
after i added the clutch box and sprocket was changed to 15/41 top speed is 100 and no vibrations..
the new 110cc head is exactly the same as of the chonda 70 only difference is the size of combustion chamber which is slightly enlarged for the 52.4mm cylinder as opposed to the 48mm chamber of chonda 70.. The intake valve is 23mm and the exhaust valve is 20 mm.same values as of default cylinder head of dhoom 70. silencer is the same old of dhoom 70..

Now i need suggestions/verifications as to what should i do to make it a bit faster.. in-fact not faster but to make the gears longer as at speeds above 60 (definitely in 4th gear) it seems as if it needs to be shifted to next gear..

Now, one mechanic suggested me to use the following
1: qinqgi clutch gear..and he said it costs 800-900 rs in new.. DONE
2: and also to upgrade to 3 discs/plates clutch boxa...( infer for yourself
    what he meant.) DONE
3:someone also suggested me to open the ports ( portain khuli kara lain) [To be done]
4: replace the paper type filter element with a foam type ,, [To be done]
will make a video about the project on what i have done so far.. in a couple of days. and rearrange this thread..

also suggest a good mechanic..in pindi islamabad..

    thanks..

Following pic show the scale next to the centre line of a 110cc combustion chamber ..my readings using vernier scale were as follows.
the inner circle is of 40mm dia same as in dhoom 70 chamber
the outer is of 52mm dia , 4mm bigger then the chamber of dhoom 70
depth is same for both..at the center line..

110cc cylinder installed.. along with a piston. the piston was partially seized but the mechanic who installed it said it is ok.. many mechanics also said so.. however rings were new. of STR.. the rings which i bought were for 150 rs and they were of zero number from united 100cc bike..(that bike in reality is a 110cc)

Piston at TDC. not the piston was flat shaped but there was too much compression.. so we tapper cut the piston.. that's why the piston looks pretty old at centre and clean at the edge... this pic was take after this piston did some 20 Km ...

also most mechanics were suggesting 15 t

Whenever I go to Muree on bike, as soon as we cross the toll plaza the speedometer needle of my bike goes crazy.
When we enter Rwp it comes back to normal.
Dont know is it due to the extra body vibrations or what?
A close friend took his CG125 to Deosai and he encountered similar problems with the tachometer of his bike.

    ^^hmm,,

i have just changed the sprockets,,not checked the meter or sprocket response,, i have been to murree quite a few times but never got such issue,,just this time but that's in my opinion just a co incidence,,that it happened in murre,,
will check it,, so is ur normal now?
suppose if mine doesn't returns to normal ,what r the solutions?
tappet gauge can be bought from any hardware shpop,, in raja bazar, and gawal mandi,,, there r 4 tpres of tappet gauges one is just a strip that is i think 1 foot long that gauges up to .05mm and costs 90 rs..
another is the one that mechanics use which has a bend and two sides measurement of .05mm and .08mm ,i couldn't find it easily,,
another is multi values that contains 2 inches strips of thickness ranging from .05mm to 1 mm , i ,mm using it don't re,member the cost but its cheap,, and there is another of the same type but the quality is far superior ,, that wont get any rust, u can bend twist and it wont cut,,
that's a bit hard to come across,,,, just buy either multi valued one,, that's good,,

^ Yes all is good now.
It could be a co-incidence but this needle thingy always happens to my bike so I felt that something might be wrong with Muree.
The speedometer can be repaired or replaced.
Any guy who repairs speedometers can tell you what exactly went wrong with your speedometer.
Sometimes its the speedometer cable or the hub gear in the front hub that is damaged and causes this vibration.

^ Check the gear for its free movement the next time you open the hub.
If you feel something is creating problems in its free movement then remove it and clean it then use some good grease for it.
I might have the old gear lying around with me somewhere, will post its pictures if Im able to find it.
It was jammed completely and it broke 3 speedometer cables in 4 months.
I use Caltex Multi purpose lead free grease, works fine for me.

    BTW You should contact Xulfiqar.
He must know which grease should be used.

y i have the carb not for sle.. u can buy from a range of carbs,, get a genuine one that would cost between 1300-1500 buy genuine dyl or honda cd 70,, if uu want to go chinas maal then i have very bad experience with crown lifan carb,, most ppl here recommend future carb,,
u can get a used genuine carb of cd 70 from auto race at 500 ,, that's near commoittee chowk i think,,
    i would recommend u a genuine...
i didn't bought the entire engine but just the piston cylinder and head ,, i thin i paid 1800 for cylinder ,, hell expensive,, and 1600 for head i think,, piston was with cylinder,,,

    bought from auto race ,,

today i completed 500 km run on my newly built engine,, and thought to check its mileage,, from observation i noted that on normal ride involving high speeds its giving me better results,, but a true figure was necessary,,so the mileage comes out to be 90km to 2 litre of petrol that is 45 km/ltr,, and this test involved very mix riding ,, speed was always above 60 ,, mostly at 70-80 km/hr,, some time was with double sawari.. the test icludied a ride to chattar park its very hilly area,, so its very good,, i earlier did calculated avg on this rout that was 40 km/ltr when bike was defaullt,,

    so awesome result so far,,,

inshahlah wo bhi karoun ga,, but i like the test of using reserve ,, that is quite perfect,,
the 100ml test is needed when u r damn sure that r bike is not giving good avg,, so the best way then is to make it 100 % sure to get the results which company caims,,and they claim ideal results,, or rather to say very precise results,,

i quoted that i used 2 litre petrol ,, i put two litre petrol because i thought with just one litre precision would not be achgieved,, so went for two litres of petrol..
i m sure the results compare truly to what ihave nnoticed about its consumption,, at least now it is giving me more power with improved avg,

45km/litre is very good at the speed and the area mentioned by you.
