    Question Project Dhoom YD 70 Upgrade to 110cc

    hi
    as the title suggests.. i have undertaken this small project.. so far i have made my bike partially ready.. here is what i have done so far..

    1:installed a 4 wheeler Cylinder of 107cc capacity
    2: and a corresponding Cylinder head..

    both the things were just bolt on fit.. no new timing chain was needed..
    i also upgraded to an after market china carburettor that comes for qingqi 100cc rickshaw.. did nothing to the jets ..mixture is a bit rich but proper setting is needed.current jets are unlabelled. however from spark plug reading mixture is in acceptable range...

    So far results are quite decent...pick is increased . very much..it reaches speeds of 80 in fairly short time..top speed is 90 but it severely vibrates past or close to speeds at 80. current sprockets are 14/41 default..
    UPDATE [17/06/2012]
    after i added the clutch box and sprocket was changed to 15/41 top speed is 100 and no vibrations..
    the new 110cc head is exactly the same as of the chonda 70 only difference is the size of combustion chamber which is slightly enlarged for the 52.4mm cylinder as opposed to the 48mm chamber of chonda 70.. The intake valve is 23mm and the exhaust valve is 20 mm.same values as of default cylinder head of dhoom 70. silencer is the same old of dhoom 70..


    Now i need suggestions/verifications as to what should i do to make it a bit faster.. in-fact not faster but to make the gears longer as at speeds above 60 (definitely in 4th gear) it seems as if it needs to be shifted to next gear..

    Now, one mechanic suggested me to use the following
    1: qinqgi clutch gear..and he said it costs 800-900 rs in new.. DONE
    2: and also to upgrade to 3 discs/plates clutch boxa...( infer for yourself
    what he meant.) DONE
    3:someone also suggested me to open the ports ( portain khuli kara lain) [To be done]
    4: replace the paper type filter element with a foam type ,, [To be done]
    will make a video about the project on what i have done so far.. in a couple of days. and rearrange this thread..

    also suggest a good mechanic..in pindi islamabad..

    Following pic show the scale next to the centre line of a 110cc combustion chamber ..my readings using vernier scale were as follows.
    the inner circle is of 40mm dia same as in dhoom 70 chamber
    the outer is of 52mm dia , 4mm bigger then the chamber of dhoom 70
    depth is same for both..at the center line..

    110cc cylinder installed.. along with a piston. the piston was partially seized but the mechanic who installed it said it is ok.. many mechanics also said so.. however rings were new. of STR.. the rings which i bought were for 150 rs and they were of zero number from united 100cc bike..(that bike in reality is a 110cc)

    Piston at TDC. not the piston was flat shaped but there was too much compression.. so we tapper cut the piston.. that's why the piston looks pretty old at centre and clean at the edge... this pic was take after this piston did some 20 Km ...

    After Clocking 8k+ km distance on it its time to welcome
    Some troubles ..troubles that were foreseen....
    as i used infact reused old gaskets between head and crankcase .. they have started leaking oil.. they were in pretty awefull conditions then as i couldnt find new ones so had to use old ones.. so this leak was forseen.. another foreseen problem for which i m waiting to occur is that the cylinder had a big groove in it and i thought it would cause smoke through exhaust .. but still after clocking 8k+ km on that cylinder i have yet to see a slight indication that ...


    also today i clocked 110km/hr on straight road .. with the jump from 100 to 105 made possible by slighly lowering my body/sir jhuka kay..
    it was horrendous experience .. i felt the air bruising me.. very dangrous experience .. did it signle sawari this time..

    Things i would do

    i realy liked the suzuki sprinter piston it has very very thin piston rings that will cause little friction and will give more speed rpm... so my current piston is i think 52mm or so ..suzuki sprinter piston is 53.5mm first size .. that will take my cc capacity from 104cc of current to 111cc..
    another thing is i have cd100 and cg125 carbs lying with me i will use either of them...
    is just about time and availability of new cd70 filter lota as that will accept big bore carb ..as i do not like filterless riding.... when i get it i will do it .

    ahsen bhai its been a long time you upgraded it to 110 cc and its been disappointing that i am meeting members from lahore n multan but not you as we reside in same city.pull over some day lets show our bikes and have some fun and discuss some matters for better results

    for vibrations
    +check every alignment of byke
    +increase front sprocket size
    +u have to do some thing to the crank shaft+++
    +++i thinks thats because of crank shaft

    yar local so called ustaads and mechanics sa bahoth tang hotha houn as they know nothing an then they talk as if moding is a sin,, anyhow as soon as i get away from them i m ok and energized,, i like it ,, i like doing mods

    ALLAH bachae from these so called ustads. I had a very bad exprience from my old bike mechanic. He just ruined everything and costed way high.

    Brother can u please tell me from where you bought this 4 wheeler cylinder of 107 capacity and the cylinder head and how much did it cost?
    I read this thread yesterdays and was really impressed with what you have done with your dhoom 70cc. I have a road prince 70cc 2012 model. I am interested in trying something similar with my road price......can you help and any tips?

    suggestion + port ur head by removing the intake valve than making it a little wider (intake valve) from the chamber side , i don't know but may be it boost.

    i always have difficulty in understanding local lingo for some parts..
    question ki sai samaj nai ayi..
    it was just a pic .. and dowell pins and the rubber o rings were not inserted ...
    and also it was used cylinder ..
    if someone wants to use 110cc cylinder buy united 100 cylinder .. thats 107cc aka 110cc.. and costs 800-1k brand new..
    also i used old gaskets as new of this size were no available ..so after 1 year and some 6k km its leaking .. i will someday install new gaskets as i got them..
    and may be bore out the cylinder for sprinter 110cc piston as that piston has tthin rings wich will give good pick and speed.. but that depends on the condition of cylinder.

    and also 125 spare carb is lying with me and another cd 100 carb.. i searched all 3 and 5s shops in committe chowk and circular road in pindi and peshawar mroe in islamabad and no one have this lota. they didnt even knew that its changed... only after teling them they checked a bike and then they goot some book and looked at numbers and said ya its changed and will order it.. some said ya kabi bhi market ma nai aya ga. kiona 5 sal pahla jo chez market ma honda lai thi us ka parts abi tak nai mill raha.. he was refereing to cd100 parts..*

    its not the size of ports that matter mostly .. the real thing is the profile of the ports ..and it all boils to creating good turbulance in order to excellantly atomize the fuel for more comlete burn and therefoore smooth ride and pick.. and efficience and environment ..*
    and i fear local ustads .. but will try it when i open it and find it suitable...
