fo an aircooled engine looks good to me, even the shell is a little brownish. Weakening the fuel mixture may lead to severe overheating and pre-ignition too.

This is more black than normal. Your bike is running on rich fuel mixture, it should be fixed. The plug on my CG125 doesn't get this much black colour even after one year.

Rich fuel mixture is the reason for early blackening of plug. This has to do with carbs setting. I would rather take mechanic's help for this purpose.

mixture should be set at perfect rather on rich or lean settings
one can adjust rich settings towards lean by unscrewing the mixture screw...if u wanna adjust it by self then unscrew it by half or maximum full turn out(anti clock) then sprint ur bike and then check out the plug

you will always have a slight rich result on an aircooled engine, mainly because the plug heat range is quite cold and secondly the engine is relying on moving air over the fins for cooling, why tax it heavier by leaning it out.

Best would be to check the airfilter and give it a thorough cleaning, install back the plug, and do some WOT throttle bursts, overrun to slow speed, lug engine at 20% throttle till power falls off about 5 or 6 times then kill the engine dead, pull in the clutch and coast to stop - check plug immediately - you will have your fuelling condition for your idle mixture and slow working.

The idle mixture only affects till 10-20% throttle opening combined with the idle jet size. After that its needle taper, emulsion tube and main jet progessively. Do not start to fiddle with the mixture like our charya roadside mechanics do. And by the looks of it the plug looks pretty ok to me, brownish tinge on the shell - if the shell and ceramic were sooty (powder) black - then it would be called rich.

The thing that is questionable is why are the plug threads black, seems to be living a protuding life - is this plug actually the correct plug for your engine?

you should also explain that the 1 turn you say actually is 360 degrees, unlike the 180 degrees that 90% of our mechanics/people think it is.

btw - does the idle mixture screw in this bikes carb restrict airflow for emulsion (like CD70) or restrict fuel (like older big carb CG125) - because both work in exact opposite directions.

    ^^ u r right..
only posting the pics of the screws and inside of the carb will tell the exact details..
by the way this is ok.. as this is a bit rich.. and most bikes main jet is kept pretty lean by companies ... so a bit rich at 0-3/4th throttle will compensate for the full throttle lean operation..

any how if a perfect setting is desired ..
use the proper method to check the plug..
first ride ur bike at 3/4th throttle ur bike in 3rd/4th gear then stop .. then check...
a plug reading is ok when it is taken at a loaded engine not unloaded engine...which seems to be the case above.. this way it will be a bit rich..

@ xulfiqar.. Thanks for your prompt reply and expert opinion. I just took the pictures of my plug again so that you can have a better look at it. Another thing some say that changing plug to irridium and also changing it wire set will help in good performance and speed of bike.. what you say about this
