    Default Is it legal

    i have a roadmaster 1979 and i will change the whole engine in near future Is it legal to change engine of a bike?? then what about engine number on paper for sure it will be changed and will not match the papers.. bike registration is on previous owner.. need help

    1st get the bike transferred on ur name. Then buy an engine.get recepit of the shop u bought engine. Go again to The ETO office.get the engine no.changed. Simple. In Pakistan Chasis no. is what 1 should really be worried about.that should be genuine n not tampered with. Engine no. Ki khair he hai!

    Are you going for engine ( which are imported from Dubai and in market these days?)

    dont change the engine... keep the case the same and change the internals entirely..

    or grind of the number of the new engine and punch in the old numbers...
    the problem is not our govt... its the people..

    Dts wt i did.. i changed my car's engine from d13 to d15 and grounded the number on new engine and ounched the old nums.. 3 years have passed and no problm
    Toyota AE86 (????) for life...

    They'll ask for some under the table money in this case... but it's doable, as the process will be done at a back date. Change of ownership and engine change number both can be done in a few hours. I believe you'll have to take the vehicle with you as the inspector will want to check the engine number physically. I suggest you hire an agent at the office there, they know all the tricks and for around Rs. 600/- will save you a lot of useless running around.
