Default Sports Bike Prices in Karachi and related info

    Assalam u alaiqum !

I have been thnking to buy a sports bike for some months as i am passionate about bikes and i have kept evry honda bike from chuha tanki bike to cd200 Roadmaster so i want a change now but literally i know nothing when it comes to sports/heavy bikes.

Can anyone tell me the minimum amount that i would be needing?
what are the most preferred bikes like suzuki bandit/yamaha fzr etc etc?
What things do i need to check before buying and what about the bike papers?
is registred bike means its legal.right?
i want a legal bike only.

P.S i also want to know some shops where person can give me a detailed information?

Sincere bikers guide on this and consider me as a NOOP in heavy/sports bikes world.

    Waalaikum'Salam.

A good 400cc bandit costs in between 120,000 to 200,000rs (again depending on model year and condition) Preference can be attributed to a number of things. Some prefer a bandit while some prefer crotch rockets (FZR, ZXR, GSXR etc) and then some prefer vintage straight bikes. Its a matter of personal preference in the end. Crotch rockets are relatively pricier than the rest. The newer the model year, the expensive it turns out to be.

Overall condition of the bike needs to be thoroughly inspected prior making a purchase, which includes engine, chassis and cosmetics/body. A sport bike mechanic would be your best bet. Like cars, a mechanic can be taken along for a thorough inspection.

A validly registered bike is whats legal, any bike with a number plate on it cannot be deemed legal. To ensure the bike you're going to be purchasing is legally registered, you may either call cplc or pay them a visit with the registration, chassis and engine number for verification.

For information, I believe the forum you are on is the best place for any details you may be on the lookout for. As for recommending a shop, I personally cannot vouch for any. May be someone else could enlighten you on that very end.

    Hope the above information helped.
    Drive safe.

shop located in dha phase V (New Age Automation) & A guy named Saqib owns it,
he can help you regarding sports bike he deals in selling of sports bikes too...

and in the above post someone mentioned a shop near Optimum related to sports bikes...its BURNOUT i think...and in my opinion he deals in latest models only...and since he only deal in latest models so they will be expensive too

there is one shop in Tariq road named MALIKONS...he deals in cars and sports bikes too but he demands toooooo much and insanely high in my opinion...

and the prices depends on what you choose..which year and make...market demand and all that...

but inspect properly dont end up with NCP bikes...before buyying thoroughly check the bike and documents need to be verified from CPLC...If CPLC have the records in their database then its legal

rest the owners of the MEAN MACHINES will guide you properly

I left that bike but i really need to know the real mystery behind it?does anyone know?

well obviously i cannot afford new bikes so that zamzama shop is like out of bound for me then
well since i am a bike lover so i dont think of money before buying a bike but i heard that you cant sale it again once you buy it coz no body would pay you 1lac for a sports bike coz there are not much buyers?is it right??

    @faizan rao

you did a good thing leaving that bike cux if it got stolen or whatever then how will you report to the authorities ?? or if after some time you fed up and want to upgrade to next version and want to sell,it wont fetch the reasonable money...and people hardly go for NCP Sports bikes...

And that's impossible...if the bike reg plate says its lahore and the guys says its NCP then how could that bike is registered without paying its CUSTOM TAX and DUTIES under lahore section...or the REG numbers are tempered on this bike...

Yeah,In Pak there are only few who have craze and admirers and also you can judge by the numbers of sport bikes you spot in karachi specially on sundayss

if the bike is maintained and legal then a serious buyer can pay you the right amount even you could fetch some more if you are lucky

no worries check the bike many times before buying it,satisfy urself and once bought; maintain that thing properly...

and yeah BEST OF LUCK getting a clean bike bro

Almost all NCP (Illegal) bike owners apply a number plate of their choice, sole goal/reason being to deceive people/authorities from recognizing it as a NCP bike. Number plates can be easily made for roughly 200-500rs. Some even get fake documents/papers and even the chassis number/neck tampered with.

As for your 2nd question, you're partially correct. Finding buyers for a sports bike could be a difficult task in some cases. However, I've seen people selling their sport bikes within days of it being up for sale, while other less fortunate one's have found it really difficult doing the same in under a year, and when they eventually managed to do it, they let them go for peanuts. In the end as they say, garaakh aur maut ka koi bharosa nahi. Kaun, kahan, kub aajayey. Kisi ko khabar nahi hotee. Similarly, there have also been cases where a seller has scored more than what he initially paid for it.

Conclusively and from a personal perspective, I would suggest to get a bike from a private seller instead a shop that also provides the services of repairing them. Being conned by the former has relatively less chances compared to the latter. And I say this after having dealt with Saqib, Malikowns (Never dealt with Burnout but have heard similar stories as the one Nomi mentioned) and a few others personally as well as by other people within the social circle. At the end of the day, I'm not being judgmental as that is not my job or any human's for that matter, mere experience sharing is all I could provide.

    @nomi and @synchrony Thanks a lot.

Well, personally i myself has been connned by the shop owner from where i bought a bike for my friends (since i am good at classic bikes so many friends ask me to buy them a bike) so what i realised after that never buy a used bike from shop or from a person who deals in bikes as his business.nevertheless its only my opinion that can differ person to person.

I am making up my mind now and inshallah i will soon start looking for a bike if any private seller has it.
Thank you all for helping so much.

That doesn't makes any sense that you compare local made 90k bike with a big budget imported stuff. Busa and Ninjas are not better then Yamaha. Busa is insane and totally a mad bike and Ninja only roars. True riders always go for R1 or R6. Overall Yamaha is best bikes manufacturing company.

Btw thats my own earned money through teaching coz i am a still final year student of mech engineer so cant really think of spending 4-5lacs on a bike.
I am planning to buy a bike within 2lacs and once i start my engineering career then after a year i will buy a latest model or i could be possible that i persue Masters abroad so considering this i am also looking on resale point.

@nomi Thanks alot for the help.

I have a Cd200 Roadmaster(1981 Classic) now adays so on an average i spend Rs 1500-2000 on its maintenance per month so could you give me a rough idea about the maintenance of a sports bike.
on an average how much would i be needing to spend on a sports bike maintenance per month like tuning service brake pads etc etc??

I have seen many Suzuki bandits on road unlike yamaha honda.why is that so?
Is it worth buying Suzuki Bandit 250/400cc over yamaha/honda?
Which bike should i prefer keeping in mind the maintenance, availability of mechanic, parts etc?

maintenance depends on the bike you choose and on the usage and how you keep your things maintained.

as well as for suzuki bandits it depends on the personal preferrence of one and mostly on the availability of spare parts..
or you can go for Suzuki RFR 400..

bandit is good but its not better then yamaha Fzrs Yzfs or honda cbrs and zukis RFR GSXR
if you could find a yamaha or hondas in ur desired budget then its a treat for you

i dont know much about your choice bro but i would suggest you yamaha if not then honda then zukis
