Default Interested in Disc brake setups and Alloy wheels for Cg125, GS150 etc?

    Salam.

Considering the demand there has been for disc brake setups and aluminum rims on gs150, cg125, sd110 etc by a few people around me. Would it be a feasible option to invest and import original Suzuki, Honda setups? Till now I've managed to install 3 front disc brake setups (2 on a GS150 and 1 on a cg125) in the past month and hence curious to ask. Is there any sort of demand for them on Pakwheels?

Depending on the response, I might go ahead with the venture. And since I will be purchasing them directly from an importer or perhaps become one myself, the price at which they will be offered will be tough (if not impossible) to beat within Pakistan.

To be honest, another reason for this idea comes from the fact that in my daily life I see alot of our Pakistani brothers modifying their bikes/engines for more power (by stroking, big boring, clutches, going fenderless etc) but completely ignoring the braking aspect of the bike, which in turn leads to even worst incidents taking place resulting in heart aching accidents. So is anyone interested, provided the price is right and with no ill effects on performance?

Thankyou for the quick response. Installing alloy's or/and a disc brake setup on a Piaggio is very much possible. Even installing them on a CD70 should not be a difficult task.

Dual front and rear discs for any bike in Pakistan is a huge possibility.

Worth adding, the setup's will be precision built and hence easy to install for anyone with basic knowledge of the setup, thus sending them over to owners outside of Karachi will neither be an issue. The owners with no knowledge, an easy to follow guide for assembly will be provided to them as well.

Depends what you're looking for, dual front brakes? single? rear disk brake? alloys or not? PM me your requirement and I will get back to you with an estimate shortly.

Others who have questions, may PM with their requirements as well.
    Cheers.

    @synchrony
    assalaamu alekum brother
let me frist tell u that uve taken a very good step. there r plenty of gs150 and ravi piaggio owners looking for alloys and disks. the only issue facing us is the insanely high costs of the parts.
i have a new gs150 and after riding it for 2300kms only, both front and rear brake shoes are completely worn out. i'd love to have discs but i guess having a pair of alloys alongside with slightly broader tyres would be awesome. im inshaAllaah planning to get them by january because of exams...
if u can start this process, i inshaAllaah will not only get them for myself, but have a couple of friends as well who are interested, some for these gs150 and some for ravi piaggio
well for now, i would highly appreciate if u could give me an estimate of a pair of front and rear alloys. kindly tell me how much wud it cost for
1.alloys with single front disk only
2.alloys with single front and single rear disk
3.alloys with dual front and single rear disk
if u can provide us with reasonably low priced setups, im sure to get mine from u, bro
    thanx and regards

Hmm... its technical and not that simple.. plus the cost is going to be at least 8Ks or more... changing front shocks and installing disk means $$$... but it depends on the outcome weather or not its worth it..

A couple pictures to keep things rolling. More better quality pictures will be added soon insha'Allah, especially of a 70cc that is currently in the process of being converted into a front disc brake non alloy setup.

Waalaikum'Salam and Thankyou for the overwhelming response everyone. As it stands, things look quiet bright and green for a go ahead. Just a few more kinks that need to be ironed out, which will be taken care of eventually as well, insha'Allah.

For the Brothers looking for a rough estimate, please acknowledge the fact that since the project is currently in its initial stages, I cannot be sure enough to provide accurate estimates. But to provide everyone with an idea, Single front disc brake setup on a spoked wheel will cost in between 7 to 10K. This price includes everything for a proper, fully functional brake setup. i.e: Drums, shock rod bottles, disc plates, brake caliper, master cylinder, hydraulic cable, speedometer assembly, axle, bearings, spokes, mudguard, brake pads, balancers etc. Not mentioning the labor that will go into making the braking system 100% functional.

Additionally, the stock parts will remain with the respective owners. Meaning, if they ever wish to revert back to the original stock system for whatever reasons, i.e: selling, they can easily do that, either by themselves or by paying a mechanic.

For the Brother that asked regarding the reliability and balancing aspect of the system, nor will this system be fully balanced prior dispatch. The braking it will provide will be worth admiring and as reliable as a Japanese braking system is supposed to be.

Just a thought and speaking from a personal perspective, If there were any doubts about the reliability or the functionality of the system, the idea of investing considerable amounts of money in it would never have surfaced.

see brother, the number of replies u got shouldve already given u an idea how enthusiastic we all are for disks and alloys. to giv u the picture here in lahore, when we go out to buy them, we usually get disks from old rx115s or gn250s. if ur thinking of importing and starting it on a higher level, u will get good response inshaAllaah. just be sure to check in first what type of alloys are we into.
rest, i wish u the very best for your project.
