No running needed just waste of patrol.
Even if you are on the right track, you will get run over if you just sit there.

Yes you really need to have your bike seasoned and tempered well in the first running in period to ensure a better life for the engine and the bike.

How better the worksmanship there be, there is always a scope for the final bedding down of engine parts by slowly and gradually allowing the engine to evolve into a perfect machine by developing tolerance limits.

For the first 2000 kms do not rev beyond 50-60 kmph limit

Do not rev to hard or sudden rev up the bike.

Increase the upper speed limit gradually by allowing the engine 10 kmph hike over 60 kmph limit for ten minutes run and then slowing down and again repeating the process for another ten days or so.

Now you can further raise the upper speed limit following the same procedure.

Change engine oil even earlier to flush out the sediments and bedded down kutchra.

This way your bike would develop tolerance limits properely and its engine life would be better than normal.

Also take care never to put the bike into gear in the first 90 seconds of cold starting coz

90% of wear and tear to the engine is done in the first 90 seconds of starting the engine.

    Happy riding.
Upwards Onwards, when the going gets tough the Tough gets going.
