Please help me, i bought new bike UD - 70 2012 model on January 11, 2012.
During break-in period i used it as follows
From 1km to 480km i ridden at 40(Max)-50(rear)km/h and transmission as
Shifting from Neutral to 1st at 0km/h
Shifting from 1st to 2nd at 10km/h
Shifting from 2dn to 3rd at 20km/h
Shifting from 3rd to 4th before 40km/h
Starts pillion riding – double sawari (about 60kg in addition to mine which is 57KG) firstly before 200KM and after 200KM I often used with pillion riding (nearly 50KM) till 480KM.
In addition to above my habit to accelerate the bike is LOCK ACCELARATION. Mean I heard often that don’t ride above 40KM during break-in period and also don’t over accelerate so my habit was that is use to lock my throttle even on little incline surfaces while pillion riding.
After 480km I had changed Engine Oil Caltax (Red) 20-40 and tightened screws etc
No Carburetor cleaning
No Air/Mixture Screw touched
No Tappet Setting
No Air Filter changed
Currently my bike is at 660KM after approx. 300km bike is losing power while shifting gear like even I am giving throttle slowly(not quick) to get sufficient speed for shifting gear but it is just giving the signal that petrol is going to finish while my petrol tank is full with fuel.
I went to Unique service centre for tuning things but he was going to open carburetor for cleaning at 615km. I stopped him to do that because
I heard some people that we should not open carburetor and leave it as factory fitted once it opened by mechanic and you will visit to mechanic every month to clean or set otherwise it will not work even 15 days or more.
My questions are
1. Do we need to open carburetor for cleaning? is it compulsory ?
2. Do we need to adjust Tappet?
3. How to solve above mentioned petrol finishing problem while petrol is available.
