    Default ZIC4T for 70 or 125?

    Hello,
I was searching the forums for choosing an oil for my honda 125..the thing is that I decided to go for ZIC 4t after reading so many satisfied customers..now the prob is...i dont have much info about oil and their specs..so when i went to the oil shop and asked for ZIC 4T he said he has that but it is for CD 70 bikes and not for 125? as I don't know much, I bought other oil...anyways...can any one explain is this true? plus..the bottle looked smaller than 1 litre...like 750ml i guess just like the oil for cd 70...so thats why i also got confused..please clear this confusion?
Also, I heard that ZIC 4T is fully syntatic oil and it may not be good for old bikes? mine is 2003 125 so fairly old.. is it true?
    Thanks.

    Salam Buddy.

First thing is volume and second is viscosity. 125CC requires more volume of oil (around 1 Liter) while 70CC requires Less.. Second thing is viscosity. For 125cc 20-50 is used. Zic 4T is good oil. Every branded oil is almost same. There's difference of 19-20.

First of all thanks brother for replying. Yes, I understand 1 liter is required for 125. But why did the shop keeper said ZIC 4T is for 70? and not for 125? is it because of the volume or because of the viscosity you talking about? I'm confused...

Would you be kind enough to explain it to me why you said 20W-50? because I have seen all the people on this forum and other places talking about using ZIC4T which is 10W i guess...

if u want to go for a 20w-50 oil, then caltex havoline is a good choice. u can get one litre pack for around 400. and i am pretty sure that it will be suitable for your bike

    Hello,
THanks for replying bro. ACtually, I am not saying I want to use 20w/50 oil..the person above me said that...actually... I have no idea whether I should use 10/40 or 20/50 oil...that's what I am asking which one should I use? Plus, I have heard so many good things about ZIC 4T and it is a 10/40 oil..so should I go for it when my bike is fairly old..?
    Thanks..

Please consult you owner manual, if you have, it will given spec of oil, I guess it is 20-40. However, most of the people and mechanics prefer using Caltex Havoline.

See the grading on Caltex Havoline 1L bottle, that is same for Honda 125 and that is very popular and most selling oil for Honda 125

Yaar your bike is quite old for proper lubrication in old engine we need something more viscous enough and for old bikes 20W-50W is better than 10W-50W. and because of the summers in Pakistan it is allow to use 20W-50W engine oil for optimum performance
