    Default 2011 Kawasaki Z1000

    Hi guys,

I've recently imported the first UK spec 2011 Kawasaki Z1000 in Pakistan. Thought i'd share it's pics with you guys. It's also for sale if anyone is interested.

It has the same engine as the ZX10r but it's detuned, so it makes around 135bhp. Engine has loads of torque and the midrange is powerful so it's perfect for the street. Ride and handling is amazing, i found it much easier to ride than my R6. Even though it's 1000cc it feels like you're riding a 600cc bike.

    Some pics:

Just sad that it's gone, though happy that my investment paid off so soon! Only had it a couple of weeks.

Yeah i'm also leaning towards the Honda. The ZX10r has more HP but Honda has better midrange which is better for the street. ZX10r makes all it's power at the top which is only useful for the track, so useless for pakistan.

Anyway both bikes are not available in Pakistan for now. There is a Green 2011 ninja but no black/red 2012 one as of yet.

Bad news is since so many bikes have been imported in the last few months customs have gotten greedy and are trying to jack up duties! Good news is, 5 year old bikes may be allowed soon.

So let's see, will have to wait until this duty issue is resolved.

So bad news is that duties could go up from $4.25/cc to $10/cc soon! That means importing a 2012 bike would easily cost an additional 5 lacs or so.

So i've decided to go for a 09 CBR1000rr for now & wait to see how this duty issue works out. Here's the bike i'm getting:

Hmmm they're all more or less the same but Yamaha & Suzuki are the most popular here. Kawasaki would be the least popular i think but now with the new 2011 models they are starting to come back as well.

thats the custom cost you just mentioned, please suggest aprox freight from USA to Isb, also is there any other cost you need to pay besides:
    Bike invoice price+Freight+Custom ?

Freight from the U.S (including crating) costs around $1500.

Yes there are quite a few additional costs once the bike reaches pakistan, custom clearing agent fee, passport, warehouse charges etc etc.

They work out to an additional 70-80k on top of the custom duty & freight.
