    Default Chain wax

Hi guys i want to use some chain wax on my gs150 chain but i am unable to find any shop in pindi that sell this product as this is an enthusiast product and only used by a few people.

I also want to get some air filter oil as motor oil or gear oil are not as effective in trapping the dust from my bike's air filter foam.

My question from the experts at pakwheels is that are there any bike shops in islamabad or rawalpindi that sell chain wax and also air filter oil?

find a place that sells industrial greases and oils - they have such sprays in abundance. Such a market in Karachi was "Marriot Road" Jodia bazar. the other was a couple of places in Korangi Industrial area. They even would have a selection of brand names for you.

I still recieve emails from a trader called Hazari Impex (on Marriot Road) about product listing from whom I bought many items.

    yeah you r right
its better to purchase new chain rather & keep it as spare rather than purchasing that lube

i m using low quality grease working fine.. better then both fresh or used engine oil.. chainm is very smooth no sounds..

though i will try some quality grease from caltex ..(original)

if u want to remove it.. use dry cloth to remove as much as possible.. then wet a new cloth with petrol and rub on the chain it will come as brand nw.. but then apply sufficiet new engine oil..
its a local made crap i brought for other purpose but ended up in using it in chain and have to wash my hands 10 times to get rid of it.
yes im using chain covers but didnt knw from where sand comes in.
previously using grease named sinopec something like that it was good.
caltex one is best but if found original but pricey.
yeah i ll do it when i ll get time for this but im thinking to apply just used engine oil to chain as grease is dissolveable in oil but create a mess in chain covers when ill clean it.

for unsealed link roller chains you are supposed to remove the chain, wash them in kerosene/petrol bath. dry them and dip them in molten chain wax - which can be bought easily from an industrial place, or extremely thick grease that can be heated in a pan and the chain immersed in it for the grease to get into the rollers.

That way all dirt is removed from the chain. An easy way to do this is to clip a used chain to the "unhooked link" and run the chain through, this makes it easier to install a new chain without removing the magento/sprocket cover.

^^ abhi tak tho wohi sara hova engine oil :: hahahah

few days ago i bough grease .. its sinopec grease .. will try that on chain .. and tell .. but i will have to wash that before applying grease ..

i havent checked for wax etc .. if u do check it then do tell me..

sinopec grease costs 180 rs and is like its reasonably big plastic bottle/jar..

i wanted caltex grease but couldnt find that .. so bought it .. as i needed that for my printer gears .. its not good there .. so i dont expect it to be any good at chain ...
