Assalam-o-Alaikum!
Can I install Disk Brake system on CG-125 Rear Wheel?
Plz guide me with ur professional experience!
Thanx!
Yes you can install.. But you have to find the Rim of acquired size which will support disc brake system. The cost of the improvement will be around 10 to 15K. There are some of experts here which are offering there services for such modifications. You can approach them for more appropriate guidance
Thanks, can u guide me how much braking will improve? and how much will be the cost of replacing brake pads of disk brakes? like we replace brake shoe in drum brakes. and if we compare disk brake with drum brakes, how often do i've to replace brake pads?
your choice of disk brakes on rear is very rare choice.front brake needs to povide more braking power then rear .. front brke must provide 60-70% of breaking power normally.. so u will obviously be going against norms.. and may be dangrous..
u may ask about disk braks on front wheel..remember motorcycle is not like cycle in breaking..
If you install the disk brake on rear wheel then the chances of skidding increases because it is more powerful then drum brakes and in the case of emergency brake you may apply it and the bike will skid and you can not handle it. Better to put it on the Front wheel for better performance. Putting any thing else other then factory fitted will decrease your bike's performance. It is my opinion any member have right to disagree with me.
It won't be safe to do that. Put that in front wheel, but 125 stock front-brake is already good enough. (At-least it was good for 90s models when I used to have ride on my friends 125s)
Useless... Braking power comes from tires completely, not brakes for these small bikes.Invest on good tires, maintain 32Psi rear tire air pressure, as stated on each tire do not exceed 35Psi level.I keep 30-33Psi
when I was riding in Karachi nearly all motorcycle users had dead front brakes, and some of them told horror stories of front disc brakes locking up, HOW STUPID does one need to be to lock up a front disc brake on a motorcycle, I have been riding for ages and in Pakistan both my front and rear brakes on my little motorcycle (yam rx115) wore out at the same time. (more than a year at minimum)
Braking will improve alot. But as said by other members especially asjdsm that there are alot of chances of tyre being skipped. I suggest you to modify front brake as disc. And you will enjoy the good braking. Plus the mechanism of front tyre is far more simply then rear one. So less mechanical issues. Junaidakhtar01 is the guy who's been doing this.. May be he can help you out.

cg,s suspension is not suitable for disk brake,s coz u know suspension plays 50% role in braking, disk brakes would require soft suspensions rather cg,s engine braking is enough for good braking, plz stick to stock brakes....
