Karizma R and ZMR was a disappointment atleast for me.Though they have increased the power and torque figures, they could have done much better on the looks part. Some people say it looks better in person so I think I will pay a visit to showroom someday.

Motomorini coming to India, in collaboration with Vardenchi Customs?: Xbhp News.

Motomorini coming to India, in collaboration with Vardenchi Customs?

Could the Motomorini's comeback come as a good news for Indian Bikers? Maybe, as nothing is set in stone yet...

Many of you must have heard of Vardenchi Choppers/ Customs in India and if so, you must be reminded of it, when someone in your group mentioned exotic customised Royal Enfields, isn't it? Well, Vardenchi has a large space in Navi Mumbai and deals in not only customised exotics but also with their custom kits.

But you may not know of Motomorini, although I have read an article about Motomorini, in a Magazine few years back.
Moto Morini is an Italian maker of motorcycles. It was founded by Alfonso Morini in Bologna, in 1937. Sadly, it was liquidated in 2010, and fortunately, its back in business since March 2012. It manufactures various models, most of which are of 1187cc, although in the past it was known to be manufacturing motorcycles with cubic capacities around 125, 350 (V Twin), 500 (V Twin), etc.

The deal so far disclosed, is that while Vardenchi will partner Moto Morini to sell the latter's bikes in India, Moto Morini will also import and sell Vardenchi?s creations in Europe in return. More details will uncover with the passage of time.

After an attempt to source engines and frames directly from Royal Enfield bore no fruit, Akshai Varde, the brains behind Vardenchi, has been on the hunt for an alternate source of engines, ideally V-Twins. Moto Morini appears to fit that need smartly and will allow the Indian firm to access these engines and use them as the base for his wild chopper designs. We expect that Morini will import these Morini-powered customs for sale in Europe.

Meanwhile, putting aside the customs, the present models of Moto Morini are no slouch either. Check the most famous ones (with their 1187cc Longitudinal V 87? engine) out:-

Harley-Davidson to manufacture Street 750, Street 500 motorcycles in India from next year - Financial Express

Harley-Davidson to manufacture Street 750, Street 500 motorcycles in India from next year

    PTI | New Delhi | Updated: Nov 05 2013, 16:54 IST

Iconic US cult bike maker Harley Davidson will start full-scale 'building' of motorcycles in India from where it will also start exporting to Europe and South East Asian market.
The company which unveiled the new Harley-Davidson Street 750 and Street 500 motorcycles - its first all-new platform in 14 years at Milan -- said it will start building the two new models in India in the first quarter of next year.
"We are excited about the potential of the Indian market and around the world, particularly in regards to the response we have had from young adults.... We are going to utilise our plant in India to build the 'Street' models not only to cater to the market there but also export to Europe and South East Asia," Harley-Davidson Motor Co President and COO Matthew Levatich said.
Since early 2011, Harley-Davidson has been assembling motorcycles in India at its CKD (completely-knocked-down) assembly unit at Bawal in Haryana catering only to the market here. India is the second country where Harley-Davidson has CKD assembly operations outside the US, after Brazil.
"Now what we are going to do is that instead of the CKD kits coming from our plants in the US, the parts will now directly come to India from vendors and bikes will be assembled there," he said.
Local fabrication of fuel tanks and fenders will also commence in India with the two new models, scaling up the company's production operations to almost full scale manufacturing from the earlier assemble operations.
Levatich, however, said the 'building' of Harley Davidson bikes in India will be restricted only to the two new models.
Elaborating on the export plans of the Street models, he said: "We will start with Spain, Italy and Portugal. This will start almost simultaneously when we launch the Street 700 in India in the spring of 2014. Exports to South East Asia will not happen in the first year, we will evaluate the markets first."
For the Indian market, the company will launch only the Harley-Davidson Street 750.
The company has not announced the prices of the two new bikes yet. The Street 750 and Street 500 from Harley-Davidson look to cater to the urban environment. Powered by the new, Revolution X engine, these bikes have been designed to match the demands of stop-and-go traffic.
Currently, Harley Davidson offers a range of 11 models from each of its five families - Sportster, Dyna, Softail, V-Rod and Touring - in the Indian market.
When asked about the sales growth in India, Harley- Davidson India Managing Director Anoop Prakash said the company is looking at a cumulative total of over 4,000 units by the end of 2013 for the 2010-13 period without sharing details.

KTM to roll out Husqvarna bikes from Bajaj's plant in 2 yrs

    PTINov 20, 2013, 06.09PM IST

    NEW DELHI: Austrian
sports motorcycle maker KTM Sportmotorcycles AG plans to manufacture and launch Husqvarna bikes in India in the next two years. The company will use its partner Bajaj Auto's Chakan plant to roll out the bike.
It also is gearing up to launch a sports model under KTM RC series that will hit the market by the end of next year.

Motorcycle/Scooter/2Wheeler Scene in India - pixel
"Our current focus is the KTM bikes, but in the next two years you will see the Husqvarna bikes coming from the Chakan plant," KTM Sportmotorcycles AG CEO Stefan Pierer told reporters here.
Earlier this year in January, Pierer, who owns a majority stake in KTM, had acquired Husqvarna from Germany's BMW.
On plans to launch more KTM bikes in India, Bajaj Auto Ltd (BAL) Managing Director Rajiv Bajaj said: "KTM has developed a full-fledged sports model under the brand RC. We will launch it by the end of next year."
The RC series will have more than one engine capacity and it will be manufactured at BAL's Chakan plant, Bajaj added.
Pierer also said by 2015, KTM may also bring its Duke 690 model to India.
In 2007, BAL had acquired 14.5 per cent stake in KTM and gradually increased it to 48 per cent. The two companies had joined hands to develop products and use the Indian firm's plant for manufacturing.
Under the KTM range, the partners sell Duke 200 and Duke 390 in India, while Duke 125 produced in India is exported to Europe.
When asked if BAL would go for a majority stake in KTM, Bajaj said: "We don't see any need for enhancing that...Our objective is to be a partner and not to take over KTM."

KTM 690 Duke to be launched in India by 2015

KTM 690 Duke to be launched in India by 2015

The launch of the 200 Duke and then the 390 Duke in India has proven to be a winning move by the Bajaj-KTM alliance, and they are not finished yet. At a recent press conference held in New Delhi, KTM CEO Stefan Pierer said that the Austrian manufacturer is considering the naked 690 Duke for India by 2015.
At the event, Pierer also reiterated KTM's plans to bring the Husqvarna brand to India, with production starting at Bajaj Auto Limited's Chakan plant within the next two years.
Currently KTM manufactures the 125 (not sold here), 200 and 390 Duke in India and also exports them. It has already announced plans to launch the RC series in India next year.

The 690 Duke, while staying true to the Duke lineage, stands out among other Dukes thanks to the use of a proper side slung exhaust.

The 690 Duke boasts a single-cylinder 690cc liquid cooled engine. This particular engine makes nearly 70PS (68 to be exact). A 6-speed transmission, a standard with all the KTMs, helps transmit this power to the rear wheel.
This combined with 149.5kg dry weight makes this another one of those pocket rockets that KTM is well known for. 320mm/240mm front/rear discs handle braking with standard Bosch ABS keeping things safe when you are trying to have some fun.
