Default An issue regarding CD 100!!

: ) First of all don't laugh at me if its pretty common but i saw no sense in that. There is a open pipe going out of the Carbutator's base and held freely..I observed some petrol drops coming out here is the picture.

Is that pipe supposed to be free without any connection to any port etc..what is its purpose ?I am asking about this cuz i have no idea about bike mechanics..

brother, this pipe is carburetor drain pipe, which only drops extra petrol which is not burned in carburetor.

this is one of the two overflow pipes. there are 3 total drain holes.. one is to empty the carb bowl of all petrol .. that is located underneath and is blocked by screw .. remove the screw and all petrol in carb flows out...

there are 2 overflow pipes.. one is left open.. and that also servers to release pressure..

another which u pointed out is to remove extra fuel from the carb bowel .. if there is more then needed petrol in carb it wil flow through this pipe which is not a good thing.. if petrol is leaking it means ur fuel level in carb is not ok .. ask some good mechanic to rectify the overflow issue..

the pipe u mentioned is left as it is without connecting to anything.. also when the bike is running the engine heats up a lot and in that case if overflow happens than petrol on extremely heat engine will just cause fire so they used this pipe in order to divert the extra fuel from falling on engine case and getting fire to falling it on ground...
