Default My New Ride SP125 ....plz Say MashAllah!

salam guys and Eid mubarak to u all ... so finally after keep changing my mind and much khuaari i finally purchased super power 125 which has got some serious bad repo on PW ..lollxx ..but Allhamulliah i m very satisfied with this bike so far... now i am sharing my long experience below ..

    • i had a 70cc chonda for 7 years now recently its engine had lost its power ...initially i thought for engine overhaul and alteration with 100cc cylinder but after some researching, discussing with fellow pw members and noticing mechanics(ustaaad) work here, dropped that idea ... now i was looking for a bike in 100cc category ... i visited akbar road, u.p. more mkt many times and rode, checked almost all bikes in 100cc category ...as unique 100 prouction being halted, i found sp100 to be the best value for money but the only downside was its ride was not so comfortable due to huge fuel tank placement ... otherwise its a very good bike from every aspect and build quality is good to ... then i checked cd100 and no doubt its the most economical and comfortable bike available here ...i finalize it but the problem arose as it has very limited sale here in khi, most people dont even recognize it and i found only 2,3 used/abused models that too of 2005 which was a flop model ... now buying a 0 meter honda in khi was out of question ...

so last sunday i was in bikes market in hope to find cd100 but didnt find any ...then i thought why shouldn't to check 125 models ..again honda was out of question so i checked unique 125 ... i didn't like it as its same centuries old design, no discs, stiff shocks and fuel tank sounded like a tin can ...then i checked this, the taboo ... the sp125 ... and surprisingly i found it to be very good in its price tag and bought it right away ...its 2012 early model ...

so here is a short review

    The PRos

1)perfect disc brake with front hydraulic shocks working like malayi

    2)awesome (karak)sound

3)comfortable riding position as its a copy of honda,

4)big a$$ tires of service with excellent road grip same as honda,

5)powerfull engine, it easily touches 95 with slight acceleration, didnt check the top speed as my riding top speed is 80 anyway

6)very less vibration for 125 ... at 90 slight vibration starts in foot pedals only ..no vibration in handle so far

    7) last but not least is the price in which u got all these features

    The Cons

1)plastic and plastic ...as almost 40% of bike consist of plastic body parts and they are not well fitted, so they got loose with time, making lousy noises giving the impression of cheap build but not a big issue, i just picked used rubber pieces from mechanic shop an fitted them in the vibrating areas and now alhamdulliah bike is sound free ..no more khat phat

    2) despite of big a$$ crystal headlight, the light is not upto mark ..my previous bike's stock round headlight was smaller and more powerfull than this ..

3)chrome finish is not up to mark ..but thats usual with every other bike these days..

4)like other users pointed out ... chain sprocket is of cheap quality ... i will change it after it got worn off ..(pakistani mentality )

users also said its carb is not good ..dont know, i will update it after checking the average of bike and there is no problem in cold starting so far, starts every time in first kick...people also complain about its hard seat but i found it soft and comfortable maybe because its already used ..also the dual horn on this ride is way to high ...pedestrian almost jumps when i honk it ...

because of these little issues, its not a bike for rider who just want to purchase and ride a trouble free bike ... u hv to spent some time and money with it ...

    my old chonda jialing 70cc..

    UPDATE

average bike giving so far is 48km/l ... average speed is 50 to 60km/h ... no useless acceleration, idle set @ 1k rpm and always speed up after proper warmup ....

^ thnx bro and yes i was thinking the same ..will change the sprocket after eid ... i am a clam rider, always drive carefully and speed up to 80 max. only when needed ..in pakistan most people hv no idea of traffic rules at all ... u never know suddenly there would be a speedy vehicle coming in slow lane or while driving in a fast lane u suddenly face a fully stopped parked vehicle .. aur khi ka haal poocho nahi bhai yahan markets bhari hui hain honda cg125 biknay k liay but koi laynay wala nahi ...even on thursday chaand raat my colleague and his friend got robbed when returning from office and robbers took every single thing except his chonda bike ....so atleast he got some relief ....

no need to change its sprokets unless it wears out..
what pple mean by ghatia sproket ? kia gomti nai ? kia atak jathi ha ? kia larkarathi ha ? does it wiggle and wobble ?

i say if its moving smoothly and not obstruction the chain movment .. dont change it ..

regarding carb.. dont change it .. aftermarket carbs are just a piece of **** ..

take care of ur sprocket and it will last a long time .. i am using no name cheapo cheapo chain and sprocket set and i ahve so far got 18 k out f it .. and hope it will last another 20k .. only thing i do is use old engine oil after every rainy season .. and when i think its needed .. sometimes it was as dry and rusty that i noted oh goshhhhhh it needs lube.. so still its done such a good mileage . dont worry about it.. if u take care of it . it will last a lot ..

point noted ... mine is working fine making no noise at all ... but the pointing area on which chain moves looks thin ..thats what i suppose is cheap quality ..maybe i m wrong ..

also one question ... currently my bike's headlight is working with dynamo and as my bike idle is below 1k rpm the light becomes nonexistent on stops ... i am thinking to convert the headlight on battery ... its standard AGS bike battery ...is it a good idea and can i do it myself or i hv visit some ustaad ..

1k idle rpm are dam low and dangrous .. it will damage the engine...

take it at least 1.5k or max to 1.7k if u have any issue .. thats i think standard for cg125 ? what manual says ?

regarding light .. a bit high idle rpm will do a little trick when at stops...

using battery is not recomended .. as the bulb i think is AC not DC .. another thing is that the bulb is 35 Watts (?) that means ur battery needs to shoot 3 amps of current (assuming the bulb to be DC which i dont think is the case ) .. and a standard battery when fully charged will not be able to give more then 2 hours of light .. and rechargnign it will take a lot of time..

i wish they use led in head lights .. they are definitly more efficient then incadecant (3-4 times for old cree led modules .. ) though that will increase the cost by about 1k .. but 1k is nothing compared to the feature ...

this what i got from honda 125 website ...

The whole idea about what speed to set the idle, on any motorbike engine is the following.
Too slow and the bike will stall, nearly fast enough and the engine will splutter or stall now and again.
Too fast and the engine will overheat in a traffic jam and burn more petrol than needed.
The gear change is also effected by idle speed, to fast or slow will effect how smooth it is or even stop you changing gear in extreme cases.
The difference in overheating speed and stalling speed is large, so you only have to roughly set the idle speed.
i m not facing any of the above problems so i guess 1k rpm is enough...

so in order to direct the headlight i hv to use bigger battery ... or a standard dry battery which is used with hids ..right ?

@getscorpion. congrats looking great. the sp125 is great value for money. few of my friends own it. however im reluctant coz of fuel consumption of 125. right now i have sp70, but seriously considering sp100 as my next move. whats ur say on sp100 since uve touched the market recently.
if tc=p then hc=m where tc is equal to toyota corolla and p is equal to paindu, and hc is equal to honda civic and m is equal to moron
