    Default Bike Care and Detailing

@ha26 and @r1 brother and others...

Please guide me in this initial process. JazakAllah

I posted it from the other thread where I asked this question"
    "
Can you guide how did you apply all these things and which parts and rubbed in linear motion or circular motion and how long you put each product before removing with water or cloth, microfiber or normal and how did you apply these things? Cloths or brush etc.

    and

If i have scratch marks at chrome parts, what to do to remove them,

How long should i put each product. Let it on bike for 5 minutes or more etc. what does dry to haze mean?"

Because everybody who has information about detailing right now is already taking care of their bike from start so bike looks new almost always.

But what does a rookie should n shouldnt try in detailing to fix his already 3rd person bought bike which has not been taken care of properly by previous owners. Name: ImageUploadedByPW Forums1450212263.462401.jpg
Views: 360
Size: 106.0 KBmy bike doesn't look new from any of the chrome parts and silencer from its starting point has some paint damaged so gives a rusty color.

    Plz help this brother.

I tried reading every little detailing thread here entirely. But the two big threads of 1000 pages, i have read almost 20 pages of each. But couldnt read all. JazakAllah.

May Allah make things easy for you. After learning, i will in sha allah make a new thread explain the how and why and when and how nots and what not to do.

More pictures of my bike where i find the problems.

    @elxlr

Bro you need to buy some of these products first, as your bike needs allot of attention and apkay 6 ghantay to gaye is per. But if you're passionate you'll not regret spending time and money on it...

    Products:
    1) micro fiber cloths (3)
    2) Car shampoo
    3) 3M rubbing Compound
    4) Good Polish
    5) Quality Wax
    6) Sealant
    7) Turtle chrome Polish

Micro fibers cloth is best and safe for paint surface, it minimizes the risk of swirls and it dries efficiently than ordinary cloth. Use a good quality car shampoo which contains wax in it. 3M rubbing Compound, for removing scratches, swirls, oxidation marks and restoring shine... Wax will act as a finishing product, if you have economical budget then you can opt for TURTLE WAX HARD SHELL... It's good for bikes and it lasts 4-5 days. Sealant is optional, it actually protects and maintains shine for months

    Process:

    1) wash your bike thoroughly with shampoo and dry it with micro fiber
    2) let it dry and use a cloth and apply TURTLE CHROME WAX on it. Apply it on chrome parts and rub until the RUST is removed and the shine is there. Wipe the polished surface with clean cloth to wipe the residue off. Do this to all chrome parts , chrome Polish will refresh the shine
    3) Grab the rubbing Compound and pour it on cloth, and apply it evenly in linear motions on paint surface, use of force is needed here! Spray sprinkles of water over the surface and keep rubbing again, do this to tank and side covers then remove them with clean micro fiber. Be careful with application, using too much will damage the paint as well...
    4) one you wipe it off, you'll see the bike is shining and most of the scratches are removed and surface is smooth also, apply polish with applicator pad or foam on the paint surface and wipe it off after a minute or two
    5) apply wax over it with the applicator or foam and wipe it off after a minute.... Your bike's shine should be a surprise for you....

And about your bike's silencer, there's nothing much you can do with it, the matte color has been scratched and it's rusted now....

I hope it helps. I'm not aware of " dry to haze " terminology

    @ha125

Thanks brother. Thats about it. Helped alot of my confusions.

Dry to a haze means letting it dry under the shadow without touching the surface for 1-2 minutes. Not under the sun. Thanks brother. jazakAllah.

I will spend 6 hours soon. About silencer, maybe buy new one. Price of genuine?

    My first post on pakwheels!
I recently cleaned my 2300 km driven Ravi R1. My bike was covered with scratches and the seat was ripped by my cat.

Firstly I got the scratches removed from a painter, he wet sanded my bike, applied cutting cream and then polish. It took away 80% of the scratches. It costed 150rs.

Next I got my a new seat cover for my bike which costed around 400rs.

    Then I got these products.
    Bike Care and Detailing -1713213

turtle wax was 650rs, Brasso 200rs, wd40 200rs, 7cf 150rs, micro fiber cloth 200rs. All were purchased from Saddar automarket.

First I got my bike cleaned from a service station for 150rs.
    Bike Care and Detailing -1713214

I started of with the 7cf spray. Sprayed it on the tires, back mudguard, meter, cables, rubber parts, handles.

    Bike Care and Detailing -1713217

Then I started working on the metal parts. Used brasso metal polish.
    Bike Care and Detailing -1713218

Finally the last step! Applied turtle wax on painted metal and plastic.
    Look at that ugly stuff.
    Bike Care and Detailing -1713219
Bike Care and Detailing -1713220Bike Care and Detailing -1713221Bike Care and Detailing -1713222

Oh and don't forget to wax the helmet!

    Bike Care and Detailing -1713223

For the final protection, I got a bike cover. It's really tight with an elastic band at the bottom. So cats can't scratch my seat anymore.
    Bike Care and Detailing -1713224

I'm thinking of adding a polish to my arsenal, because my bike didn't feel 100% clean before waxing.

What did you do with wd-40? What purpose? Mixing it with turtle wax or what? And applied it where?

I used it to lubricate the joints of the bike. Like the indicator switch, all of the key holes, bike stand etc. They were stiff after the rainy season. now I can turn and twist them without any effort.
