    Default Need info regarding engines

Aoa everyone. I have a buggy with a motorcycle engine around 150cc, recently the engine started giving a lot of problems and isnt working. It is having wiring issues and carburator problems. So i was thinking for moving to a bigger power plant, something like 250-400cc. So could anyone please tell me how much would an engine cost in this range. Should be a good reliable engine and within lahore. Preferably from a heavy bike.

And also can someone also give details about any reliable electrician in lahore who can fix the current engine. I can not take the buggy anywhere as it is not working at the moment, it wont start.
    Thanku!

the 150cc engine in your ATV produces 10BHP whereas a 250cc inline four cylinder liquid cooled heavy bike engine dishes out 40BHP. How will harness that much power, how will the chassis coup up with 4 times the power is was originally designed to handle. You will need bigger better brakes, better tyre..... ATV ki handling ka tow aapko pata hee hai...sooch loo bhai...sirf engine change nahi hoga.......itne kharchay may shayad aapko purani 250cc heavy hee mil jaye. If money is not an issue is can be a very good project.

Lahore ka tow pata nahi.....about a month ago I found one engine at Ranchorline Karachi, its was from Honda CBR250RR (inline 4cylinder 6 speed 40BHP and rev to 19,000RPM). Price tag was Rs.40k.

Thanks for ur reply brother. What i have is not an atv, its a proper four seater buggy, i am pretty sure that it can coup up with it. The rear tyres are pretty huge already, they're like 10 inches wide. As far as the brakes are concerned, front brake up upgrade is already on the to do list. As fot the cash, that is a problem cuz im a student and dont have a fixed income. 40k is out of my budget as for now! Anyways thanks for ur input.

wbk bro.. did you brought that buggy from abroad your self or did you bought it from bilal ganj I see many of them there these days in my recent visits...

by the way, if it is a chinese/malaysian/thia/ dubai import/ e.t.c.. making it inline4 will be the worst thing you would do to it and if it is japanese already then why bother changing it.. its already the best.. no ?

best bet : putting single cylender 180/200/250 small size but power full engine..

    here is my email: aximk@yahoo.com

Its better to visit the market in Lahore. Ask Vicki to help you find a good engine, he is your fellow Lahori. It all depends on whats on sale when to get there and how much are you willing to spend. Yahan plan kernay say kuch nahi hota. I have learned that the hard way. Go to market, its a treasure hunt. Enjoy it!
