Default All Respected PW members Advice PLZ!

Salam, Brothers i am intending to purchase a new Gs150 from Khi, but considering the issues encountered by various PW members my decision for buying this machine is changing. Need an advice from all members whether to still buy it or wait till the issues are resolved( and how come i be certain that PakSuzuki had taken appropriate measures to resolve the issues), or shall i go for a AHLb 125 (despite the fact that its the favorite bike of Snatchers in KHI especially & its highly unlikely that you can keep it safe for a long time)? will it be a good decision to rather then buying these go for a used Suzuki Bandit or gs500e(around 1996 model)?

herd rumors relating to some new models to be launched this year so shall wait for them or not?

Kindly post your valuable suggestions in this regard because i am highly confused in taking the right decision.

Aziz Bhai It is fact there are quality issues in Suzuki Bikes
Engine wise they are great but brand new suzuki bikes have minor deffects
so you need to choose right piece from Showroom

    Happy with my GS150.
yes you need to choose a bit carefully, as some have minor spots here and there, some will have loose taapas, some will have tail plastic not perfectly molded. all these are minor things, nothing serious. but do check about front brake carefully. most bikes front brakes are not perfectly aligned (brake shoes theek se baithay nahi hotay drum per), which causes less braking power. As this bike doesn't have disc, so front drum brake performance is very important for this bike.
as OP is from karachi, and want a big bike. honda isn't option for him. so my vote for GS150 here

Thanks aqs29 Amjad bhai n Gull bhai for replying,

Issues are the same as highlighted by You Gull bhai, the fact as i am an enthusiast of Bikes, but lacks experience relating to bikes, this probably will be my first owned bike and its quite possible that i may have to use it for a long time(probably more than 3 years). Late this December i visited PakSuzuki showroom had a detailed meeting with their marketing personnel and was quite convinced with the bike but after i had gone through Threads here at PW i got messed up either to opt fro it or not.
Some issues other then the above mentioned were that a user comment that HOW WOULD YOU FEEL YOUR BIKE PAYING CONSTANT VISITS TO LOCAL MECHANIC WITHIN FIRST 6 MONTHS, apart from that i was shocked hearing users claiming Bike punctured as they left showroom. Such events casts significant doubts over the quality as well as the long term reliability of Bike,

its about to be a month now, and i went only once to mechanic for first oil change.
Regarding puncture, i have even done quite a bit of off-roading this month but still no puncture.
Before buying this bike, i also had lot of doubts after reading the forums. But i am a bike ethusiast , and love to have a bike "zara hatt ke", plus i don't like loud bikes so Honda wasn't option for me anyway. Options left were Piaggio and GS. So i went with GS.
You can consider Piaggio as well but i think Piaggio is kind of rare in Karachi.

Buy the New Euro-II CG-125, recite Ayat-al-Kursi when you take it out and put on a cover to make it low profile for snatchers.
Bikes don't leak oil, they mark their territory.

gs150 does hv quality issues.. at least in khi... just visit akber road and see the amount of newly ridden gs150 lying there... i would advise u to visit the akbar road first before making any choice... as for 125 like axim bro said, u can also install some cheap 3rd party tank tappas to stay low profile...

I you are fearful of snatchers then go for used Suzuki otherwise CG 125 Euro 2 will be a wise choice.

I bought a gs150 recently, and i'd advise you to get this beast man! It is one hell of a ride! You'll have to pick the right piece from the showroom, and you'll have to replace the crappy stock rear tyre and you're good to go.

I bought a 1 month used bike actually. It was 1500 km driven already, I did another 90 kms. The only real issue I feel is the really bad road grip on rear tyre. at high speeds. Otherwise I simply love this ride!

yupe both euro 2 and previous new model , they told me problems like bad grip(tire maybe) , crappy brakes, rear rim is not good, puncture the tire often! unbalanced body issue and stuff like cables and meters are of cheap quality despite the high price ... engine wise no issue..

i own gs150 for last 2 years, and have ridden 4500 km on it , apart from bad quality rear tire i did not find any fault in this bike till now,
i dont ride much as i am mostly out of country but when ever i got the chance i enjoy riding her.
if 1 like to keep bike in good and neat condition, change the acid battery with sealed type and for grip change rear tire to DSI or any other good brand 90-100/18 will do just fine. check the brake shoe springs fitted in brake pads, some time they come too hard and these springs make lot of difference in braking, change with a bit softer ones and u will get excellent braking .

    kind regards
Help others so that u can be Helped

Dont bug CG-125 it will get easily snatched..Gs-150 would do well..Take a good friend along with you while purchasing(who has knowledge with bikes)
