Default All Respected PW members Advice PLZ!

Salam, Brothers i am intending to purchase a new Gs150 from Khi, but considering the issues encountered by various PW members my decision for buying this machine is changing. Need an advice from all members whether to still buy it or wait till the issues are resolved( and how come i be certain that PakSuzuki had taken appropriate measures to resolve the issues), or shall i go for a AHLb 125 (despite the fact that its the favorite bike of Snatchers in KHI especially & its highly unlikely that you can keep it safe for a long time)? will it be a good decision to rather then buying these go for a used Suzuki Bandit or gs500e(around 1996 model)?

herd rumors relating to some new models to be launched this year so shall wait for them or not?

Kindly post your valuable suggestions in this regard because i am highly confused in taking the right decision.

if 1 like to keep bike in good and neat condition, change the acid battery with sealed type and for grip change rear tire to DSI or any other good brand 90-100/18 will do just fine. check the brake shoe springs fitted in brake pads, some time they come too hard and these springs make lot of difference in braking, change with a bit softer ones and u will get excellent braking .

    kind regards

    Thanks for your valuable advices,
How about waiting till the first Qtr ends, as the possibility exist of some new models to be launched.

In Karachi, my opinion is to buy a second hand good conditioned GS that can fulfill the desires with saving a lot of money.

My plan was to buy a Gs and then make some cosmetic changes as are in the pictures provided. BTW this model is a Suzuki GSR-150i launched in Brazil.

You can also see how clearly Ravi Piaggio has copied this edition of Suzuki

Technically the only difference was a 6 speed transmission and disc brakes as compared to GS 150 Pakistani rest are cosmetic differences

What is your opinion over such cosmetic changes to be made?
    Is it worth doing so?

not worth it ... u need to spend hefty amount of money for gs customization cause its frame is old shaped and what u want is something entirely different ... it would become a cross of old and new design ... not impressive ... even asia hero 70 hv more dynamic looks ... gs hv got its own macho look in stock ...

if u r willing to spend that much money than i would say go for piaggio its a lovely bike u don't need to change a single bolt ....

GS 150 is a nice bike and issues are very small and exist in almost every brand... people change rear tyre in paiggio, deluxe, GS any ways...
other then that all are pak assembled so little problems are faced in start then no problem. even without disc brake if you are not a heavy dragger and cruise like a good boy you will ever hardly need a disc then why bother.

All Respected PW members Advice PLZ! -1118336

believe me Sir if you are a humble or even moderate rider you would never feel bad tyre or bad brakes ... it is only felt when you really go for high end speeds.

so GS would be best bet as paiggios are scarce in KHI and CG are vulnerable so ur left with GS

    hope it helps;

    Vicky.

Well i am not a racing fanatic but the thing that really bothers me is that the Bike should have really good looks, despite the fact that Piaggio is a good bike.... but as i have mentioned earlier that i have to use the machine for a long time at least but not limited to 3-4 years, Piaggio might raise some questions as to the durability and reliability.

One more question was that whether Euro II effects the reliability of engine in long run?

Piaggio doesn't seems a reliable option, secondly as Vickytulla says its kinda scarce in Karachi, frankly speaking not seen one on roads yet...

no it has no conection with engine it only mixes fresh oxygen/air in exhaust to minimize the over all pollution effect.

I can assure you aout reliablity of product because its good but every thing is compromised when the company has no or a poor service network and a plus on that is the lesser availablity of spare parts. so piaggo wont be an option for you you are making a wise decision.

Did you went to Suzuki Showroom ? go have a test drive it will help you making a decision.
