    ^^ you are correct.

I guess hidalgo means to say it can help u clean the chain, remove moisture and then re-grease it with a chain grease(its in much liquid form, not normal local grease) or use freash oil.

Please Use any clean gear oil, if not available, use some engine oil but do not use grease, as it add more dust and sand in the chain and sprokets, resulting early damaging of both,, I have faced it already. Although WD40 is a unique item but this removes colours, paints and leave some shades on surfaces,
So Oil is the best solution.

1 lakh ki Motorcycle bana li par Chain cover teen wala cheap,,Agar chain covers k nuts ko ziyda tight kia tho slip,,oops,, One of my friend have A sport bike and its chain covers are Superb made from shiny Aluminium.

Bro use sae 90w140 transmission oil..It is thick and remains on the chain for longer intervals..WD-40 is not suited for bike chain lubrication(they themselves stated it)..Lube your chain once every 1000Kms..The problems with grease is that it does not displace dirt it accumulates it in b/w rollers and thus it gets messier and messier and later it is difficult to remove previous greased layers and apply new ones..Use gear oil

i thoroughly tested sinpopec lithium base grease the best after caltex grease in the market .. on chain ...
i have to say its totall ****.. reasons as pointed above it will make convert into sludge/sakht ho jathi ha.. and jo normal chain kay particles chain sa urtha hain (zaray.. as a result of friction) wo iss grease me store ho jatha hain .. which acts as spraying sand in engnie oil and then applying that engine oil on chain ..

so grease faxzolllllllllllll ha chain ka lia .. meray tajarbay ma .

use engine oill. or transmission oil .. and tx oil is recomennded for chain by manual as well

I use PSO gear oil on my 70 and gs150 chain. Its been a year or abi tak woi 1L wali bottle nai khatam hui. I re-lubricate after 1000km and clean-lubricate it on 2000km. Gotta say it works like a charm.
