Mechanic is right u have to choose between one HID or more drive
If u drive 15KM at night only than forget about HID,s cuz battery is not getting time to recharge..
But if u drive at day and night time than increase ur drive at day time to allow the battery to recharge....
Even if u put a heavy battery things will only work for a few more days
When u checked the battery was it empty or filled with Acid ?
Can,t think of a better signature

There is no issue wid ur HID nor with Bikes daily running, infact the National Battery 12N8 installed in Suzuki GS 150 has alomst 1 years life so dosnt matter how u cares it will starts leaking & becomes dead rite after ~1 Years. You shud try orginal battery of Ravi Piaggio storm 125 or some other chinese/malaysian brand they may cost u doubles than of National 12N8 but shuld serve ~3 yares if propoerly manitaned. U can alos fits Sealed Battery with slight modifcation in Battery housing.

i have to disagree with u over here, suzuki stock battery life is more than 2 years, we are using same battery in our home generator and its still going strong.btw it was removed fisrt day i purchased gs150 and replaced with 12v maintenance free battery.

    kind regards

exceptions are always there but u may get opnion of other users & specialy the trend from Suzukiservise center more then 90 % cases NAtional 12N7/12N8 donot serve more than 1 year.

Imran bhai aap ki baat mein wazan he magar yahan issue yeh nahi he ke GS STOCK Battery ki life kitni he, going back to poiint which is, wheather GS can charge its "battery" with hid installed or not, and how much KMs it requires in day to be "enlightened" at night.

so my opinion is near to YES, because GS already keeps is H/L bulb always ON via battery when riding/driving at night, it does not give current throught magnet, and there is no "guidline" about bike to run it 50-60 km in day if you want to light ur bulb at night. So if it can light a 20-35 WATT bulb countinously, then it can probably light 55 WATT HID. (minor problem may occur with a very long drive at night, which can be resloved adding a few more Amperes).

that is because HID always need constant volts nearby 13.5 or 13, and it will start flickkering if going below than 12V, on 12 volts all your brake lights, idicators and even Horns and ordinary bulbs or other things will work fine

that can further be confired and documented......if noman shah tell us how efficiently his HID was working with 15 KM ride and did it ever start flicking or so......when his battery was not completely "ended"

if u were able to power ON hid after 2-3 KM even, then there is actually no problem at all, ur battery needs some rest after LABOUR JOB, do'nt put you battery to LABOUR PAIN, just give her some time after 15-20minutes (or more) to take rest. Or use some bigger battery.

i think hid should work at least 10-15 minutes continously on Start Engine with default battery.............do update me.....thanks

    @tigerride

    Sorry for replying late.
Regarding HID Lamps, they produce a more amount of light per unit of power. As the HID lights use less than half the power of an equivalent tungsten/halogen light so can be energised from same or even with a significantly smaller power system. Typical Head lamp (H4 Halogen) used in cars consumes 55W/60W of electric power while the high power replacement lamps consumes 90W/100Wwith. However the Typical HID lamp used in Auto mobiles as an repalcemnet of H4 lamps consumes 35~50 W of electric power.
Now Cosidering the GS 150 case, it uses 35/35 W stock head Lamp & there are many expamples that people are using 55/60W H4 halogen with thier GS 150 without any issue so i am quite sure that GS 150s alternator is capable to energise the continous load of ~75 Watt without distrubing the Battery charging current. I know 1 guy who is using HID in his GS 150 for last ~5 Years with out any issue. The Bikes having small aleternators & usually equiped with 25/25W head lamp like CD 70, CG 125, Yamaha 100 etc may have some problem while using HID or may require some modifaction etc. as there alternator has 2 outputs circuits, 1st the low power circuit is used to charge the small BAttery 2.5Ah & the 2nd is the high power circuit which energises the head lamp upon requirment but GS 150 is capabale to handle HID easily.

The usaul issue while using HID is the type/qulaity of Ballast & HID Lamps. The good quality HID kit shudnt be consuming more then 35W electric power however the cheap quality products may have high power consumption as well as performance issues. Considering the clean in put power requirment the battery is supposed to be in good health which is not so commocn in Case of GS 150 so that may require attention.
