Lightbulb Problems I faced with my Suzuki Sprinter and their solution

    1. Rare break screaming issue:
I was facing an issue of screaming sound in rare wheel brakes. One of mechanic told me to get new brake shoes, another one told me to either change the plate or purchased some local custom made brake shoes.

Finally issue is resolved by just applying grease. Mechanic did the following,

    1. Took out the plate and remove the brake shoes.
    2. Also took out the lever (including the stud).
    3. Applied grease on brake shoe springs, on the stud surface.
    4. Take a blade (normally to cut iron pipes) and made few scratches on the shoe surface.

    Thats it.
It has 2 months now and no screaming sound anymore. I hope this will resolve other's problem too.

    2. Clutch handling:
Some people including myself was facing difficulties with clutch release at bike pick. It has been resolved for me atleast. Mechanic just set the mixture to appropriate level, previously mixture was rich then required. Mixture setting was done after checking clutch setting itself.

    3. Rare tyre touches mud guard.
I must say that it is not a problem rather than jump adjustment. I normally drive single so I do not face such issue only incase some heavy member is sitting behind me. Recently I adjusted my jumps and no issue face even with heavy person sitting behind. Jumps get little harder but still they are comfortable.

Yes I do agree that mud guard is too close to tyre but this is benefitial I think in grip wise but not sure. I am saying this in the perspective of a lowered car greater road grip.

    4. Faulty speedometer:
Generaly people complaint about faulty speedometer but I have not found the same. It is giving me accurate speed and kms readings. I am saying this after comparison with other bikes and cars.

    5. Faulty CDI unit:
I do not believe in this. CDI unit is not faulty. But I saw people complaining about this and I found the main reason as; bike service at stations and alterations in wiring by some non-expert electrician.

CDI unit is under the petrol tank and during service water reaches CDI unit. People start their bikes and due to moisture CDI get short. The suzuki bikes specialist told me this and there is no faulty CDI units.

    6. Seating Position:
    I. saw few people complaining about discomfort sitting position on Standard (non eco) sprinter. Well this is upto you, I have no such issue infact it is more upright which reduced strain in your shoulder and at your back and enjoy a much better ride.

    7. Head Light issue:
Genuine or company fitted headlights are made of plastic so they have shorter life. Melt after after few years or incase of halogen, melts rather quickly. I have replaced company fitted headlight with honda 1982 - 86 (round light). Glass with metal beam. Issue resolved with some good light after installing halogen.

In the end parts are bit expensive but are quality product as they are genuine. So less visits to mechanics. Lastly, I tried different oils be it Castrol Active, Caltex havoline, Zic but I found Shell and Castrol Active on top. Nice and smooth ride.

Nice Step of putting a Glass lamp in front because by the time the front beam becomes low as its of plastic. engine wise its the strongest ride in 100cc Category.

can you kindly show a picture of the honda headlight you have fitted? i bought a sprinter a month ago and so far i'm satisfied with the light's performance but i'm looking to replacing the incandescent bulb with a halogen one. Since halogen bulbs produce more light they also give off a lot of heat and i knew that the standard headlight would not be able to cope with it! how much did the honda headlight cost you?

    Thanks

Glass around Rs 200 of XANADU, made in Taiwan. Complete set of XANADU glass + metal beam of XANADU costs you around Rs 400 - 500. I have purchased the beam separately. Separate metal Beam cost me around Rs 150.

Thanks a lot for your informative response I'll inshallah install the Xanadu or a similar quality headlamp setup and post the before and after results. Have you installed the halogen bulb as well?

    The good thing is..

    1. It has metallic chromed interior.. Which will reflect the light efficiently and the reflection will be way better than normal headlights with plastic interior

    2. It has glass lens at front, this will help in good focus of headlight and will result in good visibility. Plus long lasting.

    3. For HID glass lens is necessary.

    4. Its good for piaggio due to second bulb availability.

I'll definitely try it out in my bike and post the results. Thanks for the detailed info!

Not sure. CD 100 and Gs 150 headlights are bigger in size. Normally people install Jialing headlight.

I have seen people complaining about Raider seat too. They are saying that it is almost same as of Sprinter. May be you should go to one of local seat maker and consult for a softer foam.

there is not much difference one is brick other is stone. people who are addicted to local Zukis tend to get its inner foam replaced with soft one..

It would be best if you keep the original size. There is already very less space between mudguard and the Tyre. If you replace it with a wider/bigger tyre then it will touch the mudguard more, fuel average will decrease with increase in road grip but marginal.

Just to mention here, I have changed my bike's rare jumps with Japenese (not new aka Dubai scrap). Much longer than the original one. It benefits me in two ways. Increase the space between and makes my bike much more comfortable. I feel huge difference in comfort after changing the jumps.

any idea about increasing its "current" in headlight. Sprinter produces less current than CG 125 or even CD 70 even it has more power than 70 cc and a bit closer to 125 but its headlight is not so bright, result u cannot get better visibility on road.

I have installed headlight/hood of 125 Deluxe all original with its original Bulb. It is much brighter when fitted to 125 and less brighter when fitted on Sprinter.
