To be on the safe side-Keep GPRS on. And make sure"GPS" is activated too
    Don't do anything stupid though!

qmobile are using poor quality gps chips .. they are not accurate .. and also their antenna is very poor .

first try to find a good place then keep the mobile on the fuel tank and let the gps lock onto satellite .. the feul tank will give the much needed signal boost .. check how much accuracy your are getting with and with out it sitting on fuel tank .. once you get a good lock .. you are good to go ..

however their chips are poor quality .. they are a sorta all in one chips .. not dedicated like in the samsung or nokia or apple etc.

    Bro. No offence
But you seriously need some knowledge/ first hand experience before you go posting on professional forums.
This is not the first silly/misleading post from you.

having a data connection will speed up the process of locking on gps satellites, I usually use my home wifi connection to obtain a lock before leaving for a journey. but GPS itself doesn't require data connectivity to work.

and as far as difference in reading on gps is concerned, it is usually less than what we see on the speedo, (depending on the tire size you are using and calibration of your vehicle's meter, it could be more as well)

but I have found the readings of gps comply with speed cameras of police both times i got a speeding ticket
