    Default Motorcycle Engine Oils

Aslam Alikum, Immediately seeing the title you may have said this oh not again again one more thread
for engine oil but guys please bear this one too purpose of creating this thread is to share the range
of motorcycle engine oils available in market and for this i want your valuable co-operation as i would
share engine oils & their pics which obviously will show the specification but i have access to only few oils
which i have used or which are available in my city
i can't access all engine oils so that is why i request all of you if you have used an engine oil or you have pics of
bottle you should share here & share your review about that particular oil
Your sharing matters alot as i alone can't collect all info about engine oils available in market

As i just said in last line of first paragraph your co-operation is important in helping me out
to collect info about engine oils available in market but also i need your help in Engine oils subject As i am not expert in Oils
if we search on net this subject is too deep so want to know your info about these important terms in engine oils
this thread will be useless if it does not have any details info about specification terms
so kindly if you find some good info on net share here

    *API
    *JASO
    *Viscosity
*SAE Viscosity Numbers 10w40,20w40,20w50 or SAE40
    *Single Grade & Multi Grade
    *Mineral & Synthetic/Semi synthetic
Etc notify if there are some other important terms

The Sole purpose of this thread is to collect info about engine oil available in market
    *Specifications/price & *Picture

^Sharing some basic info which i know as par my bike

API in simple word an company which gives certificates of quality to engine oil
so always look for this API label oil but some manufactures recommends JASO
But most motorcycle manufactures in pakistan as the big one
AHl recommends to use engine Oil with API SG,SF,SE or higher grade
you should look your bike manual for the details about your bike

Viscosity of oil is shown in the SAE numbers
most oils nowadays available in market are multigrade
first number which is followed by W (winter) shows the oil viscosity at low temp:
lower this number thinner the oil be at lower temp:
2nd number shows the viscosity of oil at high temp 100c: higher the number thicker the oil
20w40 oil will remain less thick at 100c as compare to 20w50
my bike manual says 20w40 is good all rounder for pakistani conditions
but depending on the temp user can choose which oil suits engine more

Now Lets Start Sharing Some Engine Oil Brand Which I Know Or Remember

facing a little problem with engine oil relevant so thought to ask the experts out

bike is been leaking engine oil in drop form ,from the drain point of engine oil (screw that act as cap)

it been taken out to mechanic and it tightly sealed

but daily when i check there are engine oil drops equal to 2-3coins in size drop on ground(making a brown / black spot)

on the dip stick the level is fine

but not feeling good about the leak , havn't face any issue in 13880 km before

what are your suggestion and guidline?

It is advised not to put the dirty oil back into the engine but let's see what experts have to say @vickytulla please guide him

If oil hasnt aged yet, and from color, smell, and viscosty it feels to put few hundred kilometers more then you can keep it in bottle but if its already smelling like baked potatos and is totally black use new one..

For the leakage problem visit some good mechnic who can properly tight the screw and check if the O ring is inits shape and not worn off. Dont go to hathora mechnic or the will slip the Bolt and then whole engien will be openend..

just 150 km driven with new oil , recently oil change and tunning.doesnt drive bike much in winter

color is as good as new as do the viscosity , havent smell (its havoline)

the mechanic tighten with the same O shape driver.and its correctly tight

will check for morning if any leakage then will go to mechanic. i dont like hathoras mechanic too

the dipstick shows full engine oil level.

i have castrol activ bottle spare will use it if case needed

Yar once m mechanic drained my LM oil which had clocked only 200 kilometers..I was like WTH ,,got it poured back .The guy thought the gear oil i brought alongside was engine oil .As long as the container is clean you can pour it back no problems.

but you should always stock a 1L top up oil pack for emergencies.

For small oil drops you wont observe any sharp change in oil levels but for a drain on 20 ml and above the dipstick clearly exhibits oil drop.

    Alrite people!!!!!
Today i finally poured liquimoly 20w50 in my gs150 2011 which had clocked 9800 km so far....
The results were so amazing that i still cant believe that a good quality oil can make such a huge difference..... Honestly, I was expecting some minor improvements in performance that would go unnoticed by a non technical person such as myself
To begin with, I was a little bored with my post graduation studies, so decided to take a break my doing the oil change myself... I had already purchased 2 bottles of LM when i last went to old town for a discount
Anyways, I poured in the yellow colored oil(looks like sarso ka tayl unlike the maroonish havoline) and got myself, my bike and the garage dirty because of my inexperience when opening the drain bolt
i didnt drop LM as it came with an easy to pour nozzle
To clean all the mess, I gave my bike a long and tiring detailing session
I was so tired in the end that i forgot much about the new oil and went to sleep
Woke up in the evening for work
I drove my bike slowly for a while until i was on main multan road and this is when i realized how ignorant i was for not trying LM earlier
the bike ran 30?40% smoother, gear shifting was effortless and the bike was alot quieter even at higher rpms

I honestly believe LM should be compulsory for all gs150 riders

If its a question of CAN I..... Then yes u can

If its a question of SHOULD I..... Then a big no....
The company has specified the desired amount for a reason..... It will create extra pressure in side the engine and damage the valves
