    Default Motorcycle Engine Oils

Aslam Alikum, Immediately seeing the title you may have said this oh not again again one more thread
for engine oil but guys please bear this one too purpose of creating this thread is to share the range
of motorcycle engine oils available in market and for this i want your valuable co-operation as i would
share engine oils & their pics which obviously will show the specification but i have access to only few oils
which i have used or which are available in my city
i can't access all engine oils so that is why i request all of you if you have used an engine oil or you have pics of
bottle you should share here & share your review about that particular oil
Your sharing matters alot as i alone can't collect all info about engine oils available in market

As i just said in last line of first paragraph your co-operation is important in helping me out
to collect info about engine oils available in market but also i need your help in Engine oils subject As i am not expert in Oils
if we search on net this subject is too deep so want to know your info about these important terms in engine oils
this thread will be useless if it does not have any details info about specification terms
so kindly if you find some good info on net share here

    *API
    *JASO
    *Viscosity
*SAE Viscosity Numbers 10w40,20w40,20w50 or SAE40
    *Single Grade & Multi Grade
    *Mineral & Synthetic/Semi synthetic
Etc notify if there are some other important terms

The Sole purpose of this thread is to collect info about engine oil available in market
    *Specifications/price & *Picture

^Sharing some basic info which i know as par my bike

API in simple word an company which gives certificates of quality to engine oil
so always look for this API label oil but some manufactures recommends JASO
But most motorcycle manufactures in pakistan as the big one
AHl recommends to use engine Oil with API SG,SF,SE or higher grade
you should look your bike manual for the details about your bike

Viscosity of oil is shown in the SAE numbers
most oils nowadays available in market are multigrade
first number which is followed by W (winter) shows the oil viscosity at low temp:
lower this number thinner the oil be at lower temp:
2nd number shows the viscosity of oil at high temp 100c: higher the number thicker the oil
20w40 oil will remain less thick at 100c as compare to 20w50
my bike manual says 20w40 is good all rounder for pakistani conditions
but depending on the temp user can choose which oil suits engine more

Now Lets Start Sharing Some Engine Oil Brand Which I Know Or Remember

Just poured LM in my GS today .. Bike simply transformed .. Can't believe it's the same bike .. But i guess it's too early to comment now .. I'll post results after 500kms

Got it for Rs.750 from Shamsi Oil Traders, Hyderi, North Nazimabad Karachi ..Thanks to @abdulrehmanrauf for providing map & @camry47 for providing further details ..

    Shop owner's info
    Name: Majid Shamsi
    Contact Number: 0300-2114244

^ He is a very nice & co-operative guy .. When i reached there his shop was closed (Due to strike in Karachi) .. So got the number from his neighbor shop & called him up .. He said he's a few blocks away but will be there in 15-20mins .. Luckily he arrived on time .. Opened up the shop & gave me this gem (and 2 Liqui Moly Keychains ) for Rs.750 .. He said only 4 bottles are left now & new stock is gonna arrive after one month so Karachi guys hurry up if you wanna get it ..
Currently LM is only available at his shop .. Tried Khan Motors (Defence) & Al-hamd Autos (Ayesha Manzil) but they were all out of stock ..

    Aslam O Alaikum,.

Amjab Bhai, I have read this whole thread. It was time taking but in the end I learned a lot of things about Mobil oil.

So the thread has concluded that Liqui molly 20W 50 will be good for bikes. As most of the users look satisfied with this oil.

@fatal1ty Believe me you wont notice any difference even after 1k kilometers.
The one thing that unites all human beings, regardless of age, gender, religion, economic status, is that, deep down inside, we all believe that we are above-average drivers.

5000 is the offical word dealer says but drain no more than 2000 KM. i dont remeber the guy but one PW took it to 3000 km

yes 20 w 50 is thick oil , its what available here with liqui moly pakistan and its mineral based oil

for cold startups 5w40 or 10 w 40 is recommended (read previous posts) but 20w50

    also perform well

liqui moly has synthetic products not available here in pakistan.because they are costly and normal consumer doesnt prefer that much cost

    Walikum Salaam,
I am very pleased to know that this thread was helpful for you
and credit goes to all the respectable members who have shared
there knowledge and thoughts brother yeah right liqui moly
is the most adore mobil oil in this thread and its the oil which has most
positive reviews in this thread but this oil belongs to imported category
and no doubt its quality is great but local oils are not complete in vain
they have been performing their duties since years in our motorcycles
but the biggest risk that involves while purchasing local engine oil is to be aware
of fake product and the best you can do is to purchase oil from authorize known trusted dealer
in your city i am using CD100 oil in my bike pridor 100 and bike performing very well
Brother Liqui Moly is no doubt the best gift you can give to your bike and is pure virgin
as its been directly imported from Germany. But local does performs well too

Bus brother bike ko achi tarah warm up kar k road par laya karo sardio may
20w-50 oil k sath buhat zruri hay ye karna kyu k ye buhat thick hota hay aur thori dair bad sai tarah engine may phailta hay
So without warming up dpo not rev like crazy or you will end up with a blown engine sooner or later

yeah bro for local engine oils best changing interval is 1000km
but its not if you exceed this engine will get immediate damage
you can further increase this interval but best recommended is if
you care for your bike one should change oil every 1000km or max 1500km
My personal thinking is one should never exceed limit of 2000km
2000km is what manufacture suggests so we should never exceed this limit
and one miss oil change or ignored oil change interval could result bad
suppose if you don't change oil using local engine oil and drove bike over 3000km
the oil would become very dirty black it would make engine dirty so once engine inside
gets dirty it will remain dirty so that is why it is recommended to change oil every 1000km
and keep engine like new as at this local engine oils comes out pretty neat condition
once an engine oil crosses its limit or is used for long time its loses its quality of lubricating
and this results in serious loss wear of engine parts

yeah bro while using liqui moly you can have peace of mind it could easily do 2000km
but here our fellow Devilskreed who has been using liqui moly for quite long time
he suggests to change even liqui moly at 1500km as liqui moly oil has great cleaning properties
too so it cleans engine internal parts as our bikes don't have oil filter its better to drain liqui moly
    also at 1500km

I think if LM can maintain its viscosity well then one can simply follow the manual for drain interval without worrying about anything.
Which is 2000Km for all bikes except those with oil filters.
Suzuki bikes with oil filters have 2500Km drain interval mentioned in the manual.
No need to worry that it might be filled with debris/deposits. Manufacturer must have done their research before mentioning those values.

Yes agree Gull bhai practically logically it should do 2000km with ease using liqui moly
i have done 1500km with local AHl oil and believe it still had strength to do more specially
if we look at the colour of oil and thickness mechanic was saying it can do more the oil was not
in very dirty or useless condition

As per my poor knowledge, oil should be quite dirty at 1500km, be it local or imported. It simply means that it is doing good job in keeping the engine clean. If oil still feels clean then you have a problem.
Maintaining viscosity is a good thing though.

Gull bhai oil turning black we i mean most people think its sign of bad oil
but if we search on net for good quality engine oil and it is considered sign of good quality engine oil

when i had went for oil change at around 1500km mechanic was saying still oil is not very dirty
it can do more is not complete useless and while he was draining oil it did look to me still in ok condition
it had not complete turned into black On the other hand liqui moly loses its colour quickly and turns black

Now black colour of oil is considered sign of good quality engine oil
but it also could cause black sludge that is what i think & feel
Liqui moly would easily do 2000km on our bikes and should not worry about its colour
as that is what oil manufactures suggest they say don't decide oil quality or interval on colour
rather follow what your motorcycle manufacture suggest

So personally i myself little bit confused on this but i guess big manufacture like mobil 1 & liqui moly
knows better than me or us so we should not worry if liqui moly turns quickly black as compare to local engine oils

Waqar Bukhari Yes bro AX-5 is relatively better than the other local available. LM is the best affordable oil you can procure, there is absolutely no match.I have tested all brands AHL,Caltex,Kixx,Ax-5 but when i poured in LM i experienced notable change in engine noise as well as transmission.

Falat1ty brother 20w40 is an all rounder for pakistani conditions. The grades are primaly influenced by engine make and model rather than climate(oil clearance and stuff, though the latter is also considered).@20w40/50 behave exactly same on cold start, and can be easily substituted without any noticeable change.Thin oils are generally not recommended for our local bikes and the conditions are not that severe to use 10w/5w viscous oils.I am using LM in both winters and summers and there is no issue at all.

Amjad sir oil turning black is a good phenomena.Instead of turning the deposits into sludge the oil displaces those deposits and keeps them within itself so as to prevent formation of sludge.ANd when you drain the oil those deposits drain aswell.A clean oil which has clocked more than 1500 kms and there is no noticeable difference in color is a sign of great concers as the oil is unable to clear deposits from the engine. That's how oil does its job

Lm drain is dependent on vehicle make/manufacturer conditions for e.g for GS its 2500,for CD 100 its 2000 (but i drain it at 1.5k +/- 100 Kms for my own satisfaction. The oil can stretch till 2k without causing any harm
