    Default Motorcycle Engine Oils

Aslam Alikum, Immediately seeing the title you may have said this oh not again again one more thread
for engine oil but guys please bear this one too purpose of creating this thread is to share the range
of motorcycle engine oils available in market and for this i want your valuable co-operation as i would
share engine oils & their pics which obviously will show the specification but i have access to only few oils
which i have used or which are available in my city
i can't access all engine oils so that is why i request all of you if you have used an engine oil or you have pics of
bottle you should share here & share your review about that particular oil
Your sharing matters alot as i alone can't collect all info about engine oils available in market

As i just said in last line of first paragraph your co-operation is important in helping me out
to collect info about engine oils available in market but also i need your help in Engine oils subject As i am not expert in Oils
if we search on net this subject is too deep so want to know your info about these important terms in engine oils
this thread will be useless if it does not have any details info about specification terms
so kindly if you find some good info on net share here

    *API
    *JASO
    *Viscosity
*SAE Viscosity Numbers 10w40,20w40,20w50 or SAE40
    *Single Grade & Multi Grade
    *Mineral & Synthetic/Semi synthetic
Etc notify if there are some other important terms

The Sole purpose of this thread is to collect info about engine oil available in market
    *Specifications/price & *Picture

^Sharing some basic info which i know as par my bike

API in simple word an company which gives certificates of quality to engine oil
so always look for this API label oil but some manufactures recommends JASO
But most motorcycle manufactures in pakistan as the big one
AHl recommends to use engine Oil with API SG,SF,SE or higher grade
you should look your bike manual for the details about your bike

Viscosity of oil is shown in the SAE numbers
most oils nowadays available in market are multigrade
first number which is followed by W (winter) shows the oil viscosity at low temp:
lower this number thinner the oil be at lower temp:
2nd number shows the viscosity of oil at high temp 100c: higher the number thicker the oil
20w40 oil will remain less thick at 100c as compare to 20w50
my bike manual says 20w40 is good all rounder for pakistani conditions
but depending on the temp user can choose which oil suits engine more

Now Lets Start Sharing Some Engine Oil Brand Which I Know Or Remember

For all i know, that Group III base lubricants are minerals refined to so high quality that they come close to the properties of true Synthetics (aka Group IV) lubricants. That's why manufacturers usually take the liberty of calling them Fully Synthetic as well.

Well true synthetics or not, these are still superior to traditional mineral oils.

If a mineral 10w40 isn't causing seal leakage then i don't see any reason that a synthetic 10w40 should.
(But if you have been using 20w50 on some old bike all the time and shift to a Synthetic 10w40 and your seals leak then don't blame the synthetic oil for that. It's just that seals aren't good enough anymore to contain 10w40 viscosity)

Liqui Moly have no reason to introduce Synthetic products in Pak. As drain intervals on our small bikes are 2000-2500Km at best.
Who would buy a Rs 1500/litre oil to drain after 2000Km????

    Hello guys!
I would like to share my experience of oil changes on my bike. So my Mamu brought me a Sohrab JS 70 (bhaari body wali), a superb bike with great balance and power. He drove the bike all the way from Sialkot to Islamabad and had changed the oil in between. He had used Caltex Havoline according to him. It was going good, a little transmission glitches were observed rest was ok. The next oil change was of Castrol Active 20w50. I had noticed the bike was really jerky in gear changes and produced loud noises while shifting like it's breaking apart or something. The shift from 1st to neutral was really hard even though i had adjusted the clutch. The engine also did alot of knocking regardless of the quality of fuel used. It was a bad experience overall. Then the time had come to go for a better oil so I started doing my research on bike oils on PakWheels since I did not have much knowledge of the grades and viscosity stuff. I then decided to go for ZIC 4T. In the first few days of use, I am completely satisfied with this oil! Gear changes are super smooth, not any kind of noise is produced. No clutch slippage. Engine running smooth and little warm up time since I went for 10w40 as it is cold nowadays. I didn't notice much engine knocking after that. I am happy!
Most of the reviews of ZIC 4T I have seen have been positive. Don't know why it didn't suit your bike.

P.S: I am not marketing any kind of stuff here!

It is surprising actually! Maybe it's because it's not mainstream like Shell, Caltex and Castrol!
It exceeded my expectations and I'm totally satisfied. Hope it stays this way and doesn't ruin my engine
However this oil is not to be considered in summer time due to its viscosity. Not that it would totally destroy the engine, but I wouldn't recommend it. I'm thinking of trying Liqui Moly in the upcoming summers, excellent reviews it has got!

Yup i was a big critic of this oil when i used it in summer.
This oil is meant for winter use and i can engage gear after 2 mintue warm up now and engine doesn't stall.
So yeah, in winter a 10w40 and in summer a 20w40 would do just fine.
I don't think there is any harm in changing oil brand once a year

Yes it is a safe option if you also change the oil filter having and drain the oil completely
As Zic 4T is synthetic and shell ax-5 and liqui moly are mineral so they must not be mixed

Default Detail Review of all Mobil Oils "Must Read"

We have a lots of different bikes in our firm and on the suggestion of our 5s Honda Workshop. We only use Liqui Moly Racing 4t in our bikes. Some of our bike are ridiculously use and abuse by our employees but I am impressed with the performance of the oil and obviously Honda 5s Mechanic who tunned them. We have 7 deluxe for our sales executives and one of them has a mileage of 178,000 kms with first engine and believe me according to the rider it doesn't required anything yet clock to 125 km/h with on economy speed gives a mileage of 51 km/litre on a long journeys doesn't get better than that! I think that particular model of deluxe is 2010. There are many other examples in Pridors, Cd70s and have 4 GS150s. If we go and analyse each and every bike then I am afraid I have to write 3-4 articles on that but bottom line is that we are more than happy with Liqui Moly Racing 4t. We analyse our bikes performances onto that level you wouldn't believe but after looking at this thread today I have to give you this advise all of em are worthless so far Liqui Moly Racing 4t more than worth of every single penny we spend so far. I give you little example our average bike run about 200 km in a day including city and on long and we change oil after 4000km on every bike and believe me it always works like a charm! I am not representative of Liqui Moly or anything I just felt by just reading all of your comments, reviews, concerns and opinions, I thought this oil deserve that much that if I explain my view and our researches on almost each and every mobile oil either it is imported or local made come in to Pakistan this will help make your guys mind that's all! Sometimes we by ourselves import the oil from around the world 6 to 7 of em stands out better than liqui moly but again cost is an issue and some of them doesn't suit our climate and our local made bike. I give you an example we even tried tried and tested Amsoil for goodness sack. You guys talk a lot about JASO MA certification I tell you what I've met with the executives of these companies they don't have any certification or any thing they are just fooling us here in Pakistan all credit goes to our week justice system and corruption. Pakistan is a money making heaven for all these companies.

    regards

    WA ALIKUM US SALAM

    Congrats on your purchase

BRO i have use almost every oil and i give you honest opinion

as you are in break in period and there are two-three oil change due (200,500,1000 or 200/1000 km as per manual)

both liqui moly and mobil1 are expensive to be used for break in. you can use it after breakin period for well 2000KM

i will suggest KIXX Ultra SL 20w50 (RS 350 / 0.7ML - im using currently in my 70 and its smoothest ride you can get)

or go for SHELL AX-5 15W40 (about Rs 320 per litre available at metro i-11 or any shell petrol pump)

after this ZIC 10w40 (winters only)

please note for 20w50 grade oil in winters . warm your bike(idle) for 2-5 min so your engine is well lubricated

do post picture of oil after @4000 KM use under Pakistani condition

4000 km is too much to be stress for the engine under our conditions.

Like to see the oil as per your claims

more look like a marketing post!

Pakistan is a money making heaven for all these companies.

    regards
