    Default Motorcycle Engine Oils

Aslam Alikum, Immediately seeing the title you may have said this oh not again again one more thread
for engine oil but guys please bear this one too purpose of creating this thread is to share the range
of motorcycle engine oils available in market and for this i want your valuable co-operation as i would
share engine oils & their pics which obviously will show the specification but i have access to only few oils
which i have used or which are available in my city
i can't access all engine oils so that is why i request all of you if you have used an engine oil or you have pics of
bottle you should share here & share your review about that particular oil
Your sharing matters alot as i alone can't collect all info about engine oils available in market

As i just said in last line of first paragraph your co-operation is important in helping me out
to collect info about engine oils available in market but also i need your help in Engine oils subject As i am not expert in Oils
if we search on net this subject is too deep so want to know your info about these important terms in engine oils
this thread will be useless if it does not have any details info about specification terms
so kindly if you find some good info on net share here

    *API
    *JASO
    *Viscosity
*SAE Viscosity Numbers 10w40,20w40,20w50 or SAE40
    *Single Grade & Multi Grade
    *Mineral & Synthetic/Semi synthetic
Etc notify if there are some other important terms

The Sole purpose of this thread is to collect info about engine oil available in market
    *Specifications/price & *Picture

^Sharing some basic info which i know as par my bike

API in simple word an company which gives certificates of quality to engine oil
so always look for this API label oil but some manufactures recommends JASO
But most motorcycle manufactures in pakistan as the big one
AHl recommends to use engine Oil with API SG,SF,SE or higher grade
you should look your bike manual for the details about your bike

Viscosity of oil is shown in the SAE numbers
most oils nowadays available in market are multigrade
first number which is followed by W (winter) shows the oil viscosity at low temp:
lower this number thinner the oil be at lower temp:
2nd number shows the viscosity of oil at high temp 100c: higher the number thicker the oil
20w40 oil will remain less thick at 100c as compare to 20w50
my bike manual says 20w40 is good all rounder for pakistani conditions
but depending on the temp user can choose which oil suits engine more

I was using this grade of ZIC before LM. Consumed 3 to 4 bottles. And I found it better than any other locally available oil. It was proved to be better than its 10W-40 for me in Karachi. Its not too thin and not too thick like 20W - 50 in my understanding. 1000Kms running is easily achievable. Cost me 300Rs.

If one cant find LM or don't want to buy expensive then its a very good option.

DISCLAIMER: Kindly note that this is my personal experience and it can easily go wrong with others. I am not a scientist and not an expert in oils. I do not belong to sales and marketing. If by any mean one think that this is publicity stunt then please take a long breath and have a cup to tea and try to get relax. Thanks.

addulrehmanrauf Brother thanks for sharing your review opinion about Zic 4t 20w40
it is really good to know about this oil there are many happy car users of zic oil
but we bikers don't have good experience with zic and it was just because of this
grade 10w40 it is the only complain on zic too thin which results in engine heat and noisy engine
now its really good to know that Zic have launched this oil in 20w40 viscoscity which suits
best in our conditions it work good in summer and winter both
your review is very nice and helpful don't worry bro as Gull bhai said

But it is still 20W and not 15W which still makes it as viscous and thick as liquimoly in winters means more engine damage at cold start
So in my opinion they should have made it 15W-40 instead which would have made it the best choice for both seasons
The -50 or -40 after the W does not matter whether it is summer or winter

no worries brother but nowadays its like our custom to take everything in negative sense. Every time we take assumption according to our moods and only what one think and understand. Instead of coming with some thing substantial they always want to make quarrels. Khair...

Bro, technically speaking what you have mentioned is 100% accurate.

But somehow I have felt that 20W-40 is less viscous in practical. Before LM and ZIC 20W-40, I used ZIC 20W-50 the yellow bottle (1-ltr) packing. It used to work good in my 70cc but Sprinter looked like had no love with this oil, heavy ride and heating issue was there.

Then I used Castrol Active 20W-50 and 20W-40. 20W-50 was more long lasting but 20W-40 was more active, pick was sharp and even lighter ride. My Sprinter immediately used to tell me that Saeen, 20W-40, 1000km ker chuka hai please fresh oil daalo .

But again for me LM has no comparison at this moment.

It isn't about the grade but about damage to wet clutch as this oil is not meant to be used in bikes and it will cause damage to the wet clutch of the bike

@Xulfiqar i need your expert opinion on it.......thanks
i do use SAE 10W30 motor oil in winters, rather i would not go for it in summer, due to difference of temperature here in ISB
recommended oil for my bike is SAE 10w30 motor oil
one should go for asked oil grade or what
i mean what would be the difference having same oil grade?
how one can say it is for motorcycle and it is for not, even both would have same oil grade......

on last Saturday I changed my pridor oil first time at 450 KM with Liqui Moly Racing 4T 20 W-50 ,cost is 700/-

LIQUI MOLY - Motor Oils, Additives, Car Care - Products - Racing 4T 20 W-50

    1. 2nd gear sound is vanished.
    2. Kick was soft in cold winter mooring.
    3. Less time to warm up this morning as compared previously.
    4. Less engine sound.
    5. Bike is running smoothly.
    6. No jerks in 2nd gear in slow speed or congested areas.

No tell me what should be oil change interval , its written 2000 KM on manual, but guy at liquid moly saying that you should change it after 2500 KM depending on oil condition.

Max: 2000km don't cross this and i also had excellent experience with LM
no doubt its an very good engine oil first 400km were the best but after that
i was not satisfied with the ride of bike but i don't blame LM for this as i had cleaned
air filter of bike so i doubt that was result of poor performance of bike
although i am still not sure but looking at large number of satisfied users of LM
who are easily doing 1500 to 2000km interval on their bikes and there is no loss in performance
of oil after those kms i think there should no be no doubt on quality and performance of LM
