    Default Motorcycle Engine Oils

Aslam Alikum, Immediately seeing the title you may have said this oh not again again one more thread
for engine oil but guys please bear this one too purpose of creating this thread is to share the range
of motorcycle engine oils available in market and for this i want your valuable co-operation as i would
share engine oils & their pics which obviously will show the specification but i have access to only few oils
which i have used or which are available in my city
i can't access all engine oils so that is why i request all of you if you have used an engine oil or you have pics of
bottle you should share here & share your review about that particular oil
Your sharing matters alot as i alone can't collect all info about engine oils available in market

As i just said in last line of first paragraph your co-operation is important in helping me out
to collect info about engine oils available in market but also i need your help in Engine oils subject As i am not expert in Oils
if we search on net this subject is too deep so want to know your info about these important terms in engine oils
this thread will be useless if it does not have any details info about specification terms
so kindly if you find some good info on net share here

    *API
    *JASO
    *Viscosity
*SAE Viscosity Numbers 10w40,20w40,20w50 or SAE40
    *Single Grade & Multi Grade
    *Mineral & Synthetic/Semi synthetic
Etc notify if there are some other important terms

The Sole purpose of this thread is to collect info about engine oil available in market
    *Specifications/price & *Picture

^Sharing some basic info which i know as par my bike

API in simple word an company which gives certificates of quality to engine oil
so always look for this API label oil but some manufactures recommends JASO
But most motorcycle manufactures in pakistan as the big one
AHl recommends to use engine Oil with API SG,SF,SE or higher grade
you should look your bike manual for the details about your bike

Viscosity of oil is shown in the SAE numbers
most oils nowadays available in market are multigrade
first number which is followed by W (winter) shows the oil viscosity at low temp:
lower this number thinner the oil be at lower temp:
2nd number shows the viscosity of oil at high temp 100c: higher the number thicker the oil
20w40 oil will remain less thick at 100c as compare to 20w50
my bike manual says 20w40 is good all rounder for pakistani conditions
but depending on the temp user can choose which oil suits engine more

Now Lets Start Sharing Some Engine Oil Brand Which I Know Or Remember

engine oil do burn with air fuel mixture in cylinder block
    and
as gearbox oil, i do use SAE 10W30 in winter season dec to march (it is also recommended by YMC @ owners manuals)
in summers i would go for 20W40
i am not an oil expert rather i just do what is advised
2t torque induction engine would required free flow of oil in gearbox section, and as per my lil knowledge thinner oil can reach in whole engine before thicker oil, and thinner oil has better free flow in engine then thicker,
if you google then you will see most of 2t riders also use ATF as gearbox oil, few of them do use 10w40, so it all depends on 2t bike, area and out side temprature,
i tell you in summers i do you less oil (recommended 650ml) and i often do use 500ml, just only for much free flow n less resistant in gearbox, thats i have @moons BRO i am not using 32 years old engine in my bikes the one bike is 2004 model and for other bike i have stock engine which is yet on its standard piston,
Many thanks sir for the detailed reply.when I saw your thread on Yamaha RX115, which is your pakwheels ID as well,,,I was certain that you are an authority on 2 strokes specifically yamaha RX 115 and Kawasaki GTOs. I too am a 2 stroke lover and my post in this thread also relates to 2 stroke yamahas and Kawasaki GTOs, but I am surprised that your reply has missed the crux of my query. You have concerned your self with some other bikes which I guess are heavier ones and use gearbox oil. So dear sir please tell me specifically the oil that you put in the engine of yamaha RX115 and any choices in 2 stroke oil in addition to shell advance 2T. Whenever I see you online ,I think here,s a Yamaha RX115, epitomized to life.

Synthetics can bear a lot of heat variance, can provide great stable viacosity at very hot and cold temperatures and are long life too. These can be very very ezpensive and very long life too like one that lasts 10-20 thousand kms..

But they are meant for new age engines not for our tiny bikes with old tecs... The bikes that we have here in Pk are all wet clutch bikes. Their clutch is smeared in engine oil... And hence semi synthetics/synthetics can easily mess up with your clutch leathers as they have got friction modifiers that can reduce the required friction for clutch plates to operate. Hence... When one buys oil one should try finding one which is right for the bike.

Here in Pk our best bet is a really good mineral oil... Or a semi synthetic/synthetics which supports wet clutches... Which are really rare here.

Synthetics again are very fine oils and can also mess up with oil n weak engine seals... Ur engine can start eating oil up. Usually its not recommended to switch from mineral to synthetic on an old car.

Two strokes need oil on the cumbustion chamber too... So they have double lube system in a sense. However i dont recommend playing too much with oils as 2 strokers are also known for heating up n seizing.

Best for u is, buy the best 2 stroke oil u can afford but buy from an authourised dealer to ensure its genuine

I greatly appreciate auto lover. You see most of the bikes used in this country are wet clutch bikes and comparison to cars may not be justified so to say.All cars invariably have a dry clutch. Now we in this thread have confined ourselves to motorcycle engine oils and a major part of the discussion relates to 4 stroke bikes engine oil. In my reckoning , most of the brands of motorcycle 4 stroke oils available in pakistan are predominantly synthetic, but folks keep using them without much damage to the wet clutch.
The real problem is that 2 stroke bikers , keep using 4 stroke oil in their bikes again without much problem....but I have ventured to develope a list of the most suitable engine oils for yamahas and kawasakis of the 8s and 90s , available here and to know and let others know the reason for my assessment.
2 stroke oils unfortunately are not available in this market.

    thanks for your kind words,
bro actually i have already described both oil
i think your confusion is for gear box oil. look the oil we put in engine is called gear box oil in 2t bikes
and the oil we put in side oil bottle is called engine oil for 2t bikes,
i tell you in easy words. for side box oil i do use only shell advance 2t
and the oil we put into engine, i do use 10w30 in winters and 20w40 in summers
i hope now you will get my words @moons, bro its local myth, you are talking about, rather 2t bike would required thinner oil
i tell you my 2004 135 king have only 13500km on clock, and it has still standard piston in perfect condition, so i dont think so its an old engine specialy when i would look on its clock
for other bike i bought almost new engine on its standard piston, even the rings gap is up to mark in bore, and the bike whom had this engine on it was only driven 6500km on its speedo clock, lol and i do not think so its old engine,
look every one has his own point of view, but i am totally satisfied, with the oil i do choose for my bikes, i never prfer locally refiled bottled which were repacked and picked by mechanics shops, even that oils have big brand names on it but most of oils would be fake in it,

so gentlemen...I went away with taking this risk and poured mobil super 2000 , 10w4 semi synthetic in the gear box of my GTO 125. The bike is new with first oil change done at 300 kms and the second one after another 700 kms, i.e a total of 1000 kms today. On the safe side I can say that the bike has liked the change. There is no problem of clutch jitter and the engine is more soundless and powerful.
In the side bottle, I refilled with a quarter of shell advance SX2,(green bottle).

So far no issues here with LM..Bike is really enjoying this lube.So far i have driven 9000Kms on LM.Drain interval=1500 Km +/- 100 Kms..

gonna buy 2-3 packs tomorrow as i can use 3 1L packs for 4 oil changes.

yes it can harm, even it can seize the engine
    but how?
by mixing the 2t oil in fuel tank with gasoline can lean the pre set mixture, and lean mixture would be one of the main cause of engine seizure
    why people mix?
when they do not care the autolube system then it get out of order n they do not care to get fix it, they think khali oil hi to mix krna ha to woh tank mai dal kr mix kr lain ***, or yeh soch hatora mechanic ki taraf se develop ki gai ha,
i tell you there is also premix (oil n gas) would be used in 2t motocross but they also set the air fuel mixture with that pre mixture ratio,

    Cool

This is the oil that recently was added to my kawasaki GTO 125 gearbox. I wonder if anyone else has also used it in a bike. It costs Rs.850/- per liter. It is good no doubt. This oil is imported from singapore. As it is costlier than liqui molly, I think a sensible comparison with liqui molly is certainly desirable.

best of luck bro, also share your experience, 10w40 is a good option for your bike in current weather conditions,
btw its nice talking to you bro

there would be a bolt on engine side panel near kick spindal
just unscrew it and if the oil would come out of that hole then it means oil level is good, amd if you would not see any oil coming out of that hole then you have to pore much oil in gear box until you see coming out of it

    thanks Faheem bhai

that sounds desperate .I think I will search for the oil gauge of a bike that fits the opening of GTO 125....see the oil level and mark it. Hope thats workable .

its always desirable to have a technically sound assessment of the engine oil performance inside the engine. now i feel that of all the various variables , temperature is the most important and relevant, and easily measureable .All manufacturers of bikes must have designed the engine to deliver peak performance at a certain bracket of temperature .if one could measure the temperature by dipping a thermometer inside the oil after a certain distance ,say a run of 5 to 10 kms,and applying some standardization,,,,it would be a meaningful analysis. I am sure different oils would perform differently.
    anyone ever tried this?

Liqui moli wasn't available in blue area last month (now its available) so i went to i-8 isb to purchase oil, There dealer charged me 700rs and said price have been increased , update about your area in which price you are getting ?

Secondly both liqui moli oil dealers i met always say that liqui moli can go upto 2500 to 3000 kms, while i dont go beyond 2000kms,so on how many km's you are changing ?

and last thing i-8 dealer told me that cd-100 require 800ml not 750
