    Default Motorcycle Engine Oils

Aslam Alikum, Immediately seeing the title you may have said this oh not again again one more thread
for engine oil but guys please bear this one too purpose of creating this thread is to share the range
of motorcycle engine oils available in market and for this i want your valuable co-operation as i would
share engine oils & their pics which obviously will show the specification but i have access to only few oils
which i have used or which are available in my city
i can't access all engine oils so that is why i request all of you if you have used an engine oil or you have pics of
bottle you should share here & share your review about that particular oil
Your sharing matters alot as i alone can't collect all info about engine oils available in market

As i just said in last line of first paragraph your co-operation is important in helping me out
to collect info about engine oils available in market but also i need your help in Engine oils subject As i am not expert in Oils
if we search on net this subject is too deep so want to know your info about these important terms in engine oils
this thread will be useless if it does not have any details info about specification terms
so kindly if you find some good info on net share here

    *API
    *JASO
    *Viscosity
*SAE Viscosity Numbers 10w40,20w40,20w50 or SAE40
    *Single Grade & Multi Grade
    *Mineral & Synthetic/Semi synthetic
Etc notify if there are some other important terms

The Sole purpose of this thread is to collect info about engine oil available in market
    *Specifications/price & *Picture

^Sharing some basic info which i know as par my bike

API in simple word an company which gives certificates of quality to engine oil
so always look for this API label oil but some manufactures recommends JASO
But most motorcycle manufactures in pakistan as the big one
AHl recommends to use engine Oil with API SG,SF,SE or higher grade
you should look your bike manual for the details about your bike

Viscosity of oil is shown in the SAE numbers
most oils nowadays available in market are multigrade
first number which is followed by W (winter) shows the oil viscosity at low temp:
lower this number thinner the oil be at lower temp:
2nd number shows the viscosity of oil at high temp 100c: higher the number thicker the oil
20w40 oil will remain less thick at 100c as compare to 20w50
my bike manual says 20w40 is good all rounder for pakistani conditions
but depending on the temp user can choose which oil suits engine more

Now Lets Start Sharing Some Engine Oil Brand Which I Know Or Remember

It is officially listed in Caltex product ( SAE 20w 50 motor oil ) datasheet that this oil should not be used in any type of motorcyle engine (link pasted below ). Dont know why it is so hard to convince people that Car engine oil cannot be used in Motorcyle engines , wet clutch type transmission.

One typical reply from Oil dealers you get is " Oil tou Oil hota hay, Gari ka ho ya motorcycle ka " ..........

@2fast_to_furious! If its LiquiMoly "4T" then yes. (which it won't be, because it wouldn't have worked in your car) Otherwise, not recommended.

Yaar how good or bad is genuine AHL engine oil, specially for high speed and long operations?

Honda has limited to use only AHL oil otherwise warranty would be void?
I need to get my owners maunal sign and stamped by AHL mechanic...

Is this only any good? Are dealers selling genuine oil or theyr also selling fakes?

Its true that for warranty purposes, you need to use only AHL's oil. Otherwise your warranty will be void.

The oil itself is PATHETIC in quality. You are better off purchasing any other 10W-40 oil ... if thats the grade you want to use. I'd recommend using 10W-40 in winter and 20W-50 in summer (because our summer is very hot here).

Yes im worried about using this oil... i always wanted to do running on liqui moly engine oil...

This oil is not effective as the bike starts to heat within 8-10kms of riding... weather is non-friendly too for a new engine...

I want to know, should I drain this oil right now and put liqui moly in it? Can mechanic detect that im not using honda oil?

Or should I just drain this oil a little earlier?
I was thinking of 300kms, then again 300kms drain, then at 1000kms, and then after 750-1000kms max...

Oil itself is cheap i can buy 2 bottles of AHL oil is less than the price of one LQ.... but the question is? Does this oil provide proper lubrication when it is new? Or is useless weather new or old?

Personally i expect it to have very poor heat tolerance and water like zero viscosity at high temp?

@Automotorsport_Lover ! Welcome to CG125 Club. Heating issue is common under CG125 so don't be surprised. Its not the oil causing it. Its the engine itself. Plus, don't forget that your bike hasn't completed its running period yet ... so its over heating up is understandable.

The AHL's oil is of cheap quality, YES ... but it isn't THAT cheap that you start worring about engine health. The oil is thin, which means not only it'll provide proper lubrication to a brand new engine (which it badly needs) but will also let the engine generate proper heat.

One thing you'll also note that when the bike heats up, its Clutch starts to lose its working. Its also common under CG125.

During your running period, you won't be able to stretch oil more than 500-600kms anyway ... but you CAN take it upto 1000kms (which it'll still go easily ... but it doesn't assure maximum performance). It'll be more like "khench k le jana" (upto 1000kms).

Bottom line is, don't worry and keep using the AHL oil until your initial 3 tuneups, and/or until the warranty period expires. Till then you'll have to drive the bike carefully anyway ... so why bother going for better oils?

Oh and btw ... I have tested LiquiMoly (or rather, its being tested by me in my CG125 ... have driven a mere 200kms on it, almost). And its most over rated oil in Pakistan. There, i said it. Still, i think it'd too early for me to say such a thing. Lets see how far can i stretch this oil, or rather, how far can this oil be stretched.

I bet after using LQ ur bike heated less, clutch worked better and noises were reduced...

Get ur bike tuned perfectly and couple it up with fresh LQ oil... LQ can not be dragged for 2000+kms, but it can give u amazing performance for 1000-1200kms... bcoz our bikes are small, crude, rough and air cooled... expecting more milage isnt fair, expecting quality protection is fair

    ^^ And LQ oil is...?
Turbo lag is like foreplay. You know it's coming. And it's gonna be good.
