    Default Motorcycle Engine Oils

Aslam Alikum, Immediately seeing the title you may have said this oh not again again one more thread
for engine oil but guys please bear this one too purpose of creating this thread is to share the range
of motorcycle engine oils available in market and for this i want your valuable co-operation as i would
share engine oils & their pics which obviously will show the specification but i have access to only few oils
which i have used or which are available in my city
i can't access all engine oils so that is why i request all of you if you have used an engine oil or you have pics of
bottle you should share here & share your review about that particular oil
Your sharing matters alot as i alone can't collect all info about engine oils available in market

As i just said in last line of first paragraph your co-operation is important in helping me out
to collect info about engine oils available in market but also i need your help in Engine oils subject As i am not expert in Oils
if we search on net this subject is too deep so want to know your info about these important terms in engine oils
this thread will be useless if it does not have any details info about specification terms
so kindly if you find some good info on net share here

    *API
    *JASO
    *Viscosity
*SAE Viscosity Numbers 10w40,20w40,20w50 or SAE40
    *Single Grade & Multi Grade
    *Mineral & Synthetic/Semi synthetic
Etc notify if there are some other important terms

The Sole purpose of this thread is to collect info about engine oil available in market
    *Specifications/price & *Picture

^Sharing some basic info which i know as par my bike

API in simple word an company which gives certificates of quality to engine oil
so always look for this API label oil but some manufactures recommends JASO
But most motorcycle manufactures in pakistan as the big one
AHl recommends to use engine Oil with API SG,SF,SE or higher grade
you should look your bike manual for the details about your bike

Viscosity of oil is shown in the SAE numbers
most oils nowadays available in market are multigrade
first number which is followed by W (winter) shows the oil viscosity at low temp:
lower this number thinner the oil be at lower temp:
2nd number shows the viscosity of oil at high temp 100c: higher the number thicker the oil
20w40 oil will remain less thick at 100c as compare to 20w50
my bike manual says 20w40 is good all rounder for pakistani conditions
but depending on the temp user can choose which oil suits engine more

Now Lets Start Sharing Some Engine Oil Brand Which I Know Or Remember

20-50. A lower grade is recommended for new engines so im trying zic 10-40 at the moment. I have no complaints with it. When bike does 1000KM ill try LM again to see if there's any difference

The GS has struck 200 KMs. I am planning to drain the crappy SGO and put in LM 20w50 some time soon with a new oil filter

Even at 200 i guarantee that the oil will be tar-black and have the viscosity of water

Agreed. It does deserve the price tag. In sprinter i used to change it at 2000KM (sprinter has oil filter too). So in GS 1500KM should be piece of cake. The fact that ur getting a top quality mineral oil with extnded drain interval totally makes up for the slight expense

Yes yar, color is darkening very fast. I can feel a bit of vibrations at 60-70 km/h.

There was no SGO up until 2009, I guess. And in most countries SGO doesn't even exist.

Makes me think if Pak Suzuki came up with this shi***t when they woke up one morning with a plan to rob and hogwash Pakistani Awam!

    Thumbs up to that.
Morons at Pak Suzuki - thanks to PW, no one cares about your SGO crap

They buy oil from other companies, AHL oil is made by shell, yamalube/dyl lube is made by shell and most probably SGO is made by shell too... the problem is.. all these oils are priced low and are very very very cheap and basic versions of basic motor oils... simply no proper additives to improve heat resistance and maintaining lubrication in heat

Bro Why taking risk? Why dont you change it now? Try havoline until 1000 or 700km later you can use LM

Woaaahh. From the looks of it, it looks like even pathetic than the local drum oil, lolz
Yes yar, I am going to replace it soon (probably tomorrow) with LM.

Has anybody used PSO Blaze 4T in his motorcycle with good experience. I used it at last oil change in my cg and it seems that engine runs a little hotter. It may be due to the weather change in june as I poured it in month of May. The current mileage on this oil is > 1400 kms. I will change to Havoline in a couple of days.

    Ok guys in Faisalabad.
The LM dealer at Canal Road is trashy. Just don't waste your time by going there!

The other day he told me that he's getting big shipment of RT4 Racing today and now after two days, he's telling me that he'll get it in two weeks. He also has very little stock. When I got there for the first time, the only oil he had was general purpose LM SAE 20w50. So I had to get a liter out of its 4 liter packing, which wasn't even a full liter cause when I came home the oil level was a little below the "L" indicator, lolz.

So I just talked to Mr. Afzal, the dealer from Lahore as mentioned by our good ol' friend @Automotorsport_Lover. This dealer seems quite responsive and he's sending me 4-6 RT4 bottles including some other goodies (I'll share pics when it gets here), via New Khan Cargo, which I'll be able to pick up on the same day.

His website is Welcome To Liqui Moly (liquimolylahore.com), just in case if anyone needs to know that.

I don't mind paying the extra Rs. 50, if I get what I want at the time that I need.

Smile Package is arrived from Lahore

Ok fellows, it's finally here (along with some goodies).

@Automotorsport_Lover bro, you asked for feedback so here it is:

The dealer has lots of LM stock. I was expecting that he would also have WD-40 branded products but he didn't. WD-40 is very popular and he should have that as well. I would appreciate if you can convey him the feedback. Thanks again.

As for the LM 4T oil goes, it is superb.
Engine voice is different and much serener than before.
The gear shifts and the overall pick are much smoother now!
The whole bike feels quite light now. Couldn't have gotten better than this

    Invoice was something like this:

    - 3 x LM Racing 4T = 2250
    - LM 50 HT (400g) Grease = 1500
    - LM Universal Polish = 800
    - LM Fuel System Treatment = 750
    - Carriage = 200

    Total = 5500

Hehehe ur very enthusiastic about ur bike! M glad as we all share the same enthusiasm here.. though fuel treatment and polish were decisions before which consulting would have been helpful..

    1. Grease is too expensive! Is it that transparent grease for chain or normal one? Caltex grease is available in mkt for under 500Rs i guess if u wanted normal grease...

    2. Fuel treatment.. hmmm which bike uv got? Im unsure about this one, u better read in depth what its about.. coz it can be harmful for our ancient engines...
Fuel treatment can be a blend of engine cleansers, aimed to clean carbon off valves, pistons, injectors/carbs... on some cars; the sensors too...

Make sure its not something harmful for our ancient tec bikes... as abrasive additives can make weak engine seals wear off n leak quickly!

    3. Uv bought a universal polish... LM has special auto polish that would have been better + don't confuse a polish with a wax! Polishes are abrasive and remove paint layers... not suitable for regular use!

To ensure a good paint finish and long lasting protection u need to buy a good wax, not a polish. Do u have a good wax?

Wax is like a sunblock lotion for the paint skin.. its nourishes, moisturizes and protects paint skin.

Polish is like a hard cleansing lotion aimed to remove deep routed dust, blackheads of ur paints skin :p

So i hope u did not mistakenly order a polish instead of a wax bcoz hamary han due to lack of knowledge people use both words interchangeably... cosmic etc are waxes not polishes.

And m glad about ur engine oil experience! best thing in ur list!
