    Default Motorcycle Engine Oils

Aslam Alikum, Immediately seeing the title you may have said this oh not again again one more thread
for engine oil but guys please bear this one too purpose of creating this thread is to share the range
of motorcycle engine oils available in market and for this i want your valuable co-operation as i would
share engine oils & their pics which obviously will show the specification but i have access to only few oils
which i have used or which are available in my city
i can't access all engine oils so that is why i request all of you if you have used an engine oil or you have pics of
bottle you should share here & share your review about that particular oil
Your sharing matters alot as i alone can't collect all info about engine oils available in market

As i just said in last line of first paragraph your co-operation is important in helping me out
to collect info about engine oils available in market but also i need your help in Engine oils subject As i am not expert in Oils
if we search on net this subject is too deep so want to know your info about these important terms in engine oils
this thread will be useless if it does not have any details info about specification terms
so kindly if you find some good info on net share here

    *API
    *JASO
    *Viscosity
*SAE Viscosity Numbers 10w40,20w40,20w50 or SAE40
    *Single Grade & Multi Grade
    *Mineral & Synthetic/Semi synthetic
Etc notify if there are some other important terms

The Sole purpose of this thread is to collect info about engine oil available in market
    *Specifications/price & *Picture

^Sharing some basic info which i know as par my bike

API in simple word an company which gives certificates of quality to engine oil
so always look for this API label oil but some manufactures recommends JASO
But most motorcycle manufactures in pakistan as the big one
AHl recommends to use engine Oil with API SG,SF,SE or higher grade
you should look your bike manual for the details about your bike

Viscosity of oil is shown in the SAE numbers
most oils nowadays available in market are multigrade
first number which is followed by W (winter) shows the oil viscosity at low temp:
lower this number thinner the oil be at lower temp:
2nd number shows the viscosity of oil at high temp 100c: higher the number thicker the oil
20w40 oil will remain less thick at 100c as compare to 20w50
my bike manual says 20w40 is good all rounder for pakistani conditions
but depending on the temp user can choose which oil suits engine more

Now Lets Start Sharing Some Engine Oil Brand Which I Know Or Remember

time to time there have been minor changes in the packing i am not using liqui moly engine oils
so i can't be 100% helpful in this thing though i believe this is issue of different packings fake issue is
not with liqui moly engine oils as its not available in large numbers only some dealers are keeping it
you should buy from one who seems authentic and is having good stock of liqui moly and seems an
    liqui moly dealer

Fellow members from pakwheels who are using liqui moly can better comment on this thing

Bro liquimoly is best oil and after that i am satisfied with kixx 4T 20w50 its alot better than zic...i once used zic m7 in my 10k driven deluxe .changed after 200 kms as too engine sound changed and becomes more hot.
Kixx 20w50 gave same performance as liquimoly but you can easily used upto1000 kms .where as i easily used liquimoly both 20w50 4t and10w40 4t upto 1500 kms with good performance...
Kixx is alot better than zic.

when i went to purchase Zic for car, my mechanic told me that

Caltex Havoline and Zic are very frequently fake (2 No)

so how to identify fake one and original one?

best you can do is as i told you in page 93 post no 1860

more if you are buying zic you can order online it will be expensive
    but they claim 100% genuine

to check whether its fake or real
Compare the production date on sticker to production month of bottle if difference is more than 2-3 months , means the bottle has been refilled and resealed matlab fake

    Assalam o alikum All

I would like to share my experience

    Bike: Suzuki GD 110
    23,500 km covered
    Purchased in October 2013
    City Karachi.

from very first oil change @600 km I am using Zic 10w-40 which is now known as M7, till now very satisfied with this oil and still I am able to cross the 100km/hr mark.

In this winter I will observe the starting and performance again and let you know with the feedback.

Zic is producing very good quality engine oils even though we don't have many positive reviews
regarding zic 10w40 quite a few users complains of its poor performance including me when i had
used it in my pridor 100 but your bike gd110 which is pretty modern engine is loving zic 10w40

Sherani i think you should not face trouble of starting in winter as 10w40 works very good in winter
infact people recommend this oil for bikes only in winter use

Has anyone here dared to use a 10w-30 engine oil in their bike, specifically in a 125cc category bike (during winter season)?

people don't like engine sound even with 10w40 so 10w30 they will hate it
10w30 can only be tried only in cold winters but still i believe none would have
tried it as we are using air cooled old tech bikes which gets hot alot so even in
winter bikes take out season easily with 20w40 without issue of cold start

Over the years, i have tested following oils with my CG125. (All of the below are 20W-50).
    - Havoline
    - Kixx Ultra
    - Liquimoly
    - Shell Carient
    - Total Quartz

Honestly, at this point ... all of them basically gave my the same performance. Except with Liquimoly, Cluth Slip is a common sign in all the other oils, but its bearable (or let's say, i give a sh*t about that anymore).

I am about to experiment with a 10W-30 Caltex Havoline. Wish me luck. That thing costed me approx. Rs.2300 for a 4L gallon. That means it costs nearly Rs.600 per Litter. Its winter these days and i wana check how 'freely' CG125 engine can run in this cold weather. The current 20W-50 (Quartz, at the moment) is working fine, but it takes quite a while before bike reaches its optimum temperature. Before that, it runs ... well, Heavy-ish. As in, i can feel the engine is bogged down.

P.S. All the oils were less in quantity when i changed them, except two. 1) Liquimoly 2) Total Quartz. Quartz really exceeded my expectations, honestly.

I am really liking the feel of Havoline 10W-30. The (CG125) engine is running more freely now, and interestingly, it achieves 115km/h very easily. It screams more, though. But it's not a scream i'd hate. It's like, the engine is 'happy' to show it's Grunt. Not sure how else to put it. But yeah, i am liking it.

I just hope it stays that way till the end. I fear the more it'll run, the worse it MIGHT become. I'll update more here.
Riders on the storm ... literally.
