    Default Motorcycle Engine Oils

Aslam Alikum, Immediately seeing the title you may have said this oh not again again one more thread
for engine oil but guys please bear this one too purpose of creating this thread is to share the range
of motorcycle engine oils available in market and for this i want your valuable co-operation as i would
share engine oils & their pics which obviously will show the specification but i have access to only few oils
which i have used or which are available in my city
i can't access all engine oils so that is why i request all of you if you have used an engine oil or you have pics of
bottle you should share here & share your review about that particular oil
Your sharing matters alot as i alone can't collect all info about engine oils available in market

As i just said in last line of first paragraph your co-operation is important in helping me out
to collect info about engine oils available in market but also i need your help in Engine oils subject As i am not expert in Oils
if we search on net this subject is too deep so want to know your info about these important terms in engine oils
this thread will be useless if it does not have any details info about specification terms
so kindly if you find some good info on net share here

    *API
    *JASO
    *Viscosity
*SAE Viscosity Numbers 10w40,20w40,20w50 or SAE40
    *Single Grade & Multi Grade
    *Mineral & Synthetic/Semi synthetic
Etc notify if there are some other important terms

The Sole purpose of this thread is to collect info about engine oil available in market
    *Specifications/price & *Picture

^Sharing some basic info which i know as par my bike

API in simple word an company which gives certificates of quality to engine oil
so always look for this API label oil but some manufactures recommends JASO
But most motorcycle manufactures in pakistan as the big one
AHl recommends to use engine Oil with API SG,SF,SE or higher grade
you should look your bike manual for the details about your bike

Viscosity of oil is shown in the SAE numbers
most oils nowadays available in market are multigrade
first number which is followed by W (winter) shows the oil viscosity at low temp:
lower this number thinner the oil be at lower temp:
2nd number shows the viscosity of oil at high temp 100c: higher the number thicker the oil
20w40 oil will remain less thick at 100c as compare to 20w50
my bike manual says 20w40 is good all rounder for pakistani conditions
but depending on the temp user can choose which oil suits engine more

Now Lets Start Sharing Some Engine Oil Brand Which I Know Or Remember

Haven't checked the top speed. But riding at 55-60km/h. With some times slower acceleration and some times hard acceleration. I am getting 39-40 km/l.

Before switching to valvoline i used many engine oil's. Used shell ax3 20w-50, Total 4t 20w-40, havoline 20w-50, Liquimoly 20w-50. And now i am using Valvoline from last 2 oil changes keeping the drain interval 1500-1700 km.
I am satisfied with the performance of valvoline.. I think you can compare it with liquimoly.
Its price tag is also reasonable i bought this valvoline for 405 RS per liter while liquimoly is 750 RS per liter.

You would not feel huge difference in performance when switching engine oils
but a bit of difference in performance matters alot you stick with one oil in which
you feel engine is performing very good

Liqui Moly is very good engine oil but its very expensive 10w40 from liqui moly
would not be good in this hot weather i suggest try Liqui Moly 20w50 or Volvoline
if available in your area this engine oil has also good reviews

Zic is not available in 20w50

In terms of engine sound i always like my bike sound with Zic in newly
bought CD70 dream i tried atlas oil than switched to Zic. Its definitely
better engine sound immediately felt more good & crisp from exaust
and bike remains smooth in running. I have been using Zic M5 20w40
from quite long time in my motorcycles since 2013 when i had pridor 100

Guys anyone having idea about OEM specifications of engine oil for CG125 Deluxe. What if 10W40 or 20W50 is used instead of 20W40 (specially in summer season)?

I never got that engine sound good on this oil theory I mean if engine suddenly got silent after oil change it means oil isn't doing its cleaning stuff

Atlas Honda recommends use of 20w40 as this grade is all rounder in Pakistani conditions
you can use in winter & summer as well but Atlas also giving now 20w50 engine oils
which if some one wants can use in hot summer

Engine feels silent with thick engine oil many users likes this
I use Zic M5 20w40 which works very good and i like engine

    and engine performance

10w40 is not good engine oil for OHV deluxe this engine gets very hot
so using thin engine oil would make it even more hot quicker i suggest
use 20w40 or 20w50 engine oil

ohv engine require thin oil as only rockers are lube with oil in "head" cam is lube in crank case so using a thick oil will just result in slight lower fuel economy

    Hello Navqam.

All Valvoline products are imported 100% in sealed packs. There is no refilling or repacking done in Pakistan whatsoever.

The origin is from our blending plant in Singapore which serves the complete South East Asian region including Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Maldives, etc.

If you can't find a Valvoline dealer near you, you can order genuine Valvoline online from Online Shopping in Pakistan with Free Home Delivery - Jambo where you will get free home delivery. Just go to Online Shopping in Pakistan with Free Home Delivery - Jambo and type Valvoline in the search box. This will take you to the Valvoline order page. Choose the products you require and place order. You will get free home delivery with cash on delivery. Simple !

    Thanks.

    Salam to all,
I've a 2001 Yamaha 100. I'm using Shell 20-W50 in the crankcase and Shell Advance SX (Green Bottle) in the auto-lube (I don't premix)...
The performance is rather uninspiring and sluggish and the smoke is just TOO MUCH... On the contrary, fuel economy is impressive at around 40.
I'm thinking about experimenting with other oils...
So which oil you think could boost the performance? I don't mind if the fuel economy worsens somewhat as I prefer a lively ride...
    Thanks in advance.
@saboor73 Brother you seem to know A LOT about engines and oils so I'd deeply appreciate any input from your end... Thanks.

Thanks for a quick response. I shall definitely give VALVOLINE a try for both (my bike & car). I hope the courier service used to deliver VALVOLINE products is trust worthy and don't change genuine products with fake ones. I hope u understand what i mean to say. I am sure VALVOLINE PK is taking care to make sure that their genuine products reaches the end user.

    Thanks again...

Thanks.
Use shell advance sx2 (2t oil) with fuel

Poured Liqui Moly 10W40 and engine suddenly rocking with musicsound as compared with rough engine sound and feel with Shell AX5 10W40 that I used during running of my GS 150. Engine noise is not reduced too much but gives a lighter feel then before and donot get too hot. Acceleration improves a bit with no difference in gear shifting.
AX5 was also 10W40 but felt too rough in engine.
Although its start of summers but opted for 10W40 with small knowledge that i gathered form this thread and others on PW stating that with thicker oil,the engine shall got more hot plus GS 150 done only 1500 kms would not feel good with thicker oil.

Got LM 10W40 for Rs. 800 from I-8 Markaz from LM shop in city arcade.
