Got my GD's tappets adjusted 2 days ago. Bike feels like new. Tappet noise is gone and the engine responds to throttle nicely. I'm liking it.

I got them adjusted at 6,000 km. I am thinking of repeating this exercise after every 5,000 km. This is what I think. Can you guys suggest what is an adequate interval to get tappets adjusted? I understand this would vary from machine to machine. So let's hear what is the experience of GD guys and members riding other machines too.

I'll share my experience with Honda CD 100. I am not much of a "tuning" guy, so I don't get my bikes tuned - I just take care of engine oil, air filter, and tappets (if need be). So my record shows I got my CD 100's tappets adjusted at irregular intervals: 4,000 km; 5,000 km; and lastly 12,000 km - only 3 times in the 3-year span I had my CD 100 for. This is surprising for me too as I didn't notice it before. So I think this means tappets should be adjusted only on when-need-be basis. Please share your experiences and views.

Vicky bhai no doubt the quality of GD is far better than any of the local bikes produced in pakistan. It received a lot of criticism when it was launched but it proved to be a quality product

No doubt. I being a GD rider can safely claim it to be the best bike in Pakistan as far as build quality and, hence, durability is concerned. But I am afraid the quality will deteriorate when Suzuki start producing it locally as did happen with GS-125 (now discontinued) and GS-150 (facing many quality control issues).

    Let's hope for the best.

GD guys, let's plan a long trip before Ramazan. We could go to Murree on Friday night/Saturday morning and return by Sunday evening. Share your ideas and thoughts on this.

i have posted this question on another topic, and Devilskreed have answered it as well

but i am still wondering , which one is more comfortable, durable, parts availability, resale value doesn't count.

Resale value is not an issue.

    Waiting for you guidance.

Sir its a difficult decision..Had a chance to observe the bike in g-10 isb..Built quality was great..Honda wave offers more comfort no doubt but it has fuel capacity of 3.5 liters only meaning it is supposed to be used within city and for short commutes..GD-110 is a full fledged motorcycle(no good for tall ppl) with a small form factor.Wave is a scooter..Depends on ones personal taste.Go with what you Dad says

The one thing that unites all human beings, regardless of age, gender, religion, economic status, is that, deep down inside, we all believe that we are above-average drivers.
