I doubt about GS in case he needs some help with parts during trip. And seriously doubt about RP for same case. Though I am with RP

    It's just highway travel
    Should be no problem.
I have travelled 800Km in a day on N5 highway multiple times.

Well i have had Junoon/Deluxe and now GS.
Junoon cruising speed 80-85Km/h. Mileage 40Km/lit
Deluxe cruising speed 95-100Km/h. Mieage 33Km/lit
GS cruising speed 100-105Km/h. Mileage 30Km/lit (note that i had huge 100/90 tyre at the rear during this trip, otherwise mileage could have been about same as Deluxe)

    Comfort wise GS is best.

Try to travel in daytime and at night you may rest in some appropriate hotel which you may locate on National Highway on google map. You should save all emergency numbers of NH Police. Better to have a medicare kit with you and some small licensed arm but better to confirm it first from NH Police regarding rules and regulations to carry a licensed arm for protection purposes. Once in 2004 i and a friend of mine were travelling on a small 100KM trip from Bahawalpur to Multan in chili winter at around 2am at night just to enjoy driving in "fog". We were on a 100cc restored Honda 70s model. Somewhere near basti malook the bike suddenly stopped....... we were checking the fault and a group of wild dogs came barking on us.... road was completely empty and dark with lots of fog in the month of January....... we had nothing else except our belts to defend... running was a silly option... so we both pulled out our leather belts and hit few two three times and tried to start bike which ALHAMDULILLAH responded finally and we shoot ..... still they were chasing us but we saved....
Though NH is safe but for avoiding such rare incidents one should have a licensed arm so that if such things happen we may get out of it.

    regards,

Oh Nomee bhai that was very scary experience seems like horror movie scene
i can't imagine how scary experience that would have been

but In Sindh wild dogs are not dangerous but wild human beings
which come with fully loaded with AK47

I would agree with you @amjad635. they are the worse creatures you'd find during the travel, they are extremely notorious. so make sure you have complete documents etc.

and as far as bike is concerned, my vote is for gs150 for it's comfort and reliability. which matters the most in such a long travel than the raw BHP or torque

I have travelled alot on RP125 longest single trip was around 1200km+ to north .... it did a superb job very comfortable ... speed on highways was 110km maintained and at hilly areas as low as 20km... only one puncture on the way back to lahore near Gujrat.

I think there is some NOC required for travelling through sindh... A fellow pakwheeler didn't know about it and hence on his way back to Lahore he was robbed by all the police Chokies in the way...
He was deprived of all of his money and all this experience was v.torturous done by the police to him... He did not had any penny left! He was very upset and terrified... Police cruisers even chased him, so it was pretty intense...

On the other hand I must say travelling on bike, alone has safety issues so I won't recommend it...

Do carry a licensed pistol if u wonna go... Carry money but hide it, take plastic money with you too...

Overall it's not going to be pleasant at all.. 1500kms is meant for proper cruiser bike, not these... Ud be hell tired, with a broken back...!

I recommend using Honda cg125 deluxe as it is comfortable, it has disc brakes for emergency situation and engine parts are shared with cg125 classic so no worries of availability....

Make sure u have rear view mirrors, a good helmet with new/clean visor, fresh engine oil at start, good rubber on tires, well cleaned air filter or new... low pressure air in tires to make it comfortable and tappets should be perfectly done by a specialist... Wrong tappets settings and continuous high speed operation will damage ur engine surely.... Carry a tire puncture repair kit and extra tube with you too...

Recomended is to keep draining ur engine oil after every 750kms and take all the required oil (bought from authorised dealer) along with u since the beginning of the joueney... Bcoz u might not get good quality and original oil in the way... Hence u need total 4 bottles of oil!

    (1500 + 1500) / 750 = 4

Ideal travelling time would be 7am-6pm max! And a big no to travelling at night! Take 15mins break after every 2hrs..

Also wear a reflective and bright upper... It would keep ur shirt clean and would make u more visible!

A weak horn is no horn!!

If your bike is new it will not break in 1500 km short journey

Forget about parts if it is new. Just worry about puncuture kit. Break And Clutch Leavers.
